Lakers vs. Bucks
The NBA Odds have the Bucks as favorites for only the fifth time this season tonight, as they come in as -1 ½ favorites with a total of 217 points. The Lakers are underdogs because they will be without one of their main stars after he was hospitalized a few days ago.
Pau Gasol was diagnosed with vertigo and will miss at least the Lakers’ next two games. He is fine in regards to his life, however he won’t be playing basketball for at least a few days. Without him the Lakers’ offense might struggle tonight even against the Bucks, a team not known for their defense.
However something else the Bucks aren’t known for is their offense, even at home this season. The Bucks are averaging only 93 points per game at home this year, and even against the Lakers coming in, I doubt they get much more than that tonight. Even if Milwaukee gets to the 100-point mark, they still may lose the game.
This is why I think the total of 217 is a little over valued tonight. Without Gasol, the Lakers don’t have as high a ceiling as they would have had with him healthy, and that is also leading me to the under. The Bucks have cashed the under at 16-13 this season against the Western Conference, and if all goes like I think it will, a final score of 109-105 looks likely, which would make the under the play.
NBA Pick: UNDER 217
Clippers vs. Mavs
The NBA Odds have the Clippers as a -1 road favorite tonight with a total of 215 points. With another spread of one point, I think the total is where we need to go with out NBA Picks tonight on this game. The Clippers played last night, and I think that might hinder them a lot tonight against a tough Mavs team.
The Mavs are in need of a win to get back into the playoff picture in the West, and after their loss last night in New Orleans, you can bet the Clippers will want to get back to winning. I think this environment is going to be great for the over tonight, and at 212, the value is there.
The over has cashed at 8-6-1 this season for the Clippers on the second night of a back to back, and going into Dallas, they should give up points. The Clippers played a tough game last night where their main players all went 35 or more minutes.
The Mavs are 25-17 cashing the over this season against the Western Conference, and as a home underdog this year, the Mavs have never cashed the under. The over has gone 7-0 this year when the Mavs aren’t favored at home.
This will be the third meeting between these two teams this season, and in the first two, the total soared over. The over has cashed in the last three times these two have played one another, and even though 212 is a little higher than those totals, the Clippers coming off the back to back will lead to more scoring.
Dallas has averaged 108 points per game over their last ten games, while the Clippers have scored 109 in their last ten. Even at 212, the over looks like the play.
NBA Pick: OVER 212
