Tuesday provides a very light slate of NBA games to choose from, but I have picked two certified winners after going 3-0 in free picks on Monday.

Wizards at Blazers

The Wizards are coming off of their second worst loss in franchise history when they fell 116-69 to the Utah Jazz on Monday. Washington now moves to 2-3 in the stretch without John Wall since he has had to miss time due to PRP injections into his knee. One of those losses was over Thanksgiving break to the Blazers in D.C. In that game, the Wizards had a 17-point lead but allowed the Blazers to make a furious comeback in the fourth quarter.

The Trail Blazers have done a masterful job this season of capitalizing on the advantages they have by having a dynamic backcourt in Dame Lillard and C.J. McCollum. This game was supposed to be a matchup between young up-and-coming backcourts, but that's out the window with Wall sidelined. He has a Net Rating of 11.7 and is one of only four Wizards players who have a positive Net Rating. His absence has affected how the rest of the team plays, since he leads the team with 9.7 assists and gets everyone else involved. The Wizards will continue to start Tim Frazier at point guard and have Tomas Satoransky back him up. These two players will be instrumental in trying to keep the ship afloat in Wall’s absence, but Lillard and McCollum will be lurking sharks in the water.

Jazz at Thunder

Utah was on the other end of a demolishing the Wizards in Utah on Monday but has to travel to Oklahoma to take on the Thunder tonight. OKC is finally getting back to its winning ways after beating the Spurs on Monday night in a tightly contested game. Part of the reason why the Jazz had so much success vs. Washington was the early return of Rudy Gobert. Gobert had missed extensive time with a knee injury, but healed faster than expected. Utah has now won 6 games in a row.

The Thunder are finally figuring out how to play together as a newly formed team, and that means establishing a hierarchy on whom gets the basketball. Paul George has distinguished himself as the best player in Oklahoma City, and it would behoove the Thunder to start playing like that. OKC will play at i’s best when George is the focal point of the offense and Carmelo Anthony is relegated to ancillary role player.
