For our money line play of the day we head to Orlando where the Magic host the very different looking Suns. Read more as to why we are backing Orlando for our plus money line play of the day.
Some Experiments Don’t Work
I actually didn’t mind the three point guard scenario with Phoenix, I thought it could have worked out but alas a few months into the season the Suns blew that up. Still, they have some nice pieces and a good coach in Hornacek in my opinion. With their record it is easy to see why the NBA odds makers made them a -4 favorite in this spot. But mid-season makeovers are sometimes tough to deal with. Since the Dragic trade they are 2-5 with their only wins over a struggling Nuggets team and OKC at home without Durant. Even prior to the trade and up until now they have been sliding. For the month of February they shot their lowest percentage from the field at 44% and had their lowest assist average per game. They simply have been a shell of what they were earlier this season and I don’t see them righting the ship anytime in the near future, speaking of future…
The Magic Look Bright
These guys come out to play. They had a real poor showing last game against Charlotte, but the Hornets actually play defense ranked 5th in points allowed and 7th in field goal percentage against. Compare that to the Suns at 28th and 21st in comparison and we think the Magic will have a lot more success on the scoring end. We also know that is due more to tempo and pace, but again, this is not the same Suns team as a month ago and offensively they are not keeping up like they want. Although their record has not been good this year Orlando has been a very competitive team. They have a good core of young players, and most recently in the month of February they shot at their highest of any month at 46% from the field and their assists were also up per game average in the same comparison span. This game should be an easy NBA Pick: we anticipate them to have a big bounce back game against the Suns. Recent reports is that Orlando feels like they still have an outside shot at a playoff spot, although that is a tall order we like that kind of mindset, they will leave it all on the floor.
Just Show Me the Line
The line and odds can really tell the story sometimes. Here we have the 31-30 Suns against the 19-42 Magic and the NBA Odds makers have it at a -4. They have it, but I should say they have TO make it. This is good spot in which we get a game where the Suns have to be made the favorite but actually the Magic match up well with them and have more than a good chance to pull off the minor upset.
