The Washington Wizards will be without John Wall tonight and for the next week or two, and the sportsbooks have the Wolves as 5½-point home favorites tonight with a total of 213 because of it.

Wizards at Wolves

Being without All-Star point guard John Wall really hurts the Wizards’ offense in both the half court and transition. Wall may still be the fastest player with the ball in his hands in the entire league, and if he can’t play that takes the Wizards down more than a notch.

Granted, you can’t trust the Wolves as far as you can throw them, but they are a young team with good leadership, and they are starting to turn things around in winning five of their last eight games. The Wolves haven’t been able to cover to save their lives, though, so I have a solution for all parties involved. Being without Wall clearly makes the Wolves favored to win, and a 5-point teaser can move them down to a pick-em here tonight.

That just leaves the total, and while I don’t have much on this, my gut is telling me this could be a higher-scoring game. The Wizards played somewhat fast at home against the Blazers on Sunday with 96 possessions, and if that speeds up on the road could see them cash 'over' 208 on the teaser line.

The last two meetings between these two went 'over' the total, and the Wizards have cashed the 'over' in two straight. The Wolves, on the other hand, have cashed the 'over' in three of their last four, and the Wolves have given up more than 113 points per game in that stretch.
