Welcome to another edition of our NBA Picks of the Day. We nailed both of our best bets yesterday and it’s time to do it again! Check out our playoff plays for the two-game Tuesday slate.

 Wizards vs. Celtics

Washington punched the Celtics in the mouth early in Game 1, but then they relaxed and ended up giving back the lead and ultimately took the loss. Washington’s offense was red-hot to start the game too, but they went from scoring 64 first half points to only 47 in the second half.

Washington’s biggest problems started in the fourth. In the first three-quarters and especially in the first half, the Wizards were getting a ton of shots at the rim and in the final quarter they started settling for jump shots more and their defense let the C’s get to the basket more and more.

However, I think Washington knows their mistakes and plan on rectifying them here tonight. That being said, I don’t think that will help them play defense in this one.

John Wall is a solid defender and his time spent guarding Isaiah Thomas was pretty good. However, outside of him, the C’s outmatch them in a lot of areas outside of the paint. If Marcin Gortat can continue to dominate the paint and Otto Porter can play big again, I like the over in this one.

Markieff Morris also says he is going to play after leaving Game 1 early landing on Al Horford’s foot. Even if he somehow gets on the court, I doubt he is that effective and his defense (or potentially lack thereof) on Jae Crowder could also help this play. At a pace of about 100 possessions per 48 minutes in Game 1, I like the pace to get even quicker tonight.

  Jazz vs. Warriors

If the Clippers were healthy, they probably would have made it past the Jazz and into the second round against the Warriors. Either way, neither one of these teams are winning more than one game against a rested Warriors team with a healthy Kevin Durant.

While I see Utah grinding this game down as much as possible, they won’t be able to slow down the Warriors’ offense if they aren’t making shots on the road. They did a pretty good job of that in the first series, but after playing a tough defense in the Clippers, the Warriors’ defense is even tougher.

I could easily see the Warriors coming out and stifling this Jazz offense after a tough seven-game series. This makes the first half spread very appealing for tonight’s game at -8. The number is shooting up to -8½ at some sportsbooks and I am grabbing it before it gets even higher.
