It’s a cold Tuesday all across the United States, however things are heating up in the NBA, as there are 12 games on tonight. The NBA Odds are very intriguing for several of these games, and I think I have found some value tonight in two of them.

Wizards vs. Bobcats

The NBA Odds have the Bobcats as -1 ½ favorites tonight, with a total of 190 ½, and with the small spread, I think the total has much more value tonight. Charlotte is the 3rd best home defensive team in the NBA when it comes to points allowed, averaging only 93.8 points per game given up at home. With the Wizards’ recent offensive woes, this could mean for a lower scoring game tonight. The Wiz have averaged only 87 points per game over their last three games.

These two teams matchup very well against one another, and I think it will lead to the under being the play. Kemba Walker and John Wall will match up well with one another defensively, and with both not shooting the ball very consistently just yet, I could see poor field goal percentages from both tonight. The same could be said about the matchup between Al Jefferson and Marcin Gortat. Both will cancel one another to an extent, and it should lead to the scoring being minimal tonight.

This season, Charlotte has been a machine at cashing the under at home, and it gets even better when they are a home favorite. Charlotte is 8-1 cashing the under this season when they are favored at home, and I see that trend continuing tonight against the Wizards.

NBA Pick: UNDER 190 ½

Lakers vs. Mavs

The early NBA Odds coming from BetOnline sportsbook has the Mavs as -11 favorites tonight against the Lakers, with a total of 209. These early odds might shift some once the spread settles out, but for now, I think there is enough value on this total for an over bet.

The first time these two teams met this season, the score ended at 123-104, and easily cashed the over. That marks the sixth time in the last eight meetings between these two teams that the total has gone over. The Mavs are 10-7 cashing the over this season at home, while the Lakers are 9-7 cashing the over on the road.

LA’s main problem on the road has been their defense, and in those 16 games, the Lakers are giving up an average of over 106 points per game to their opponents. The Mavs subsequently are one of the better home scoring teams in the NBA, and I see it leading to the over tonight in Dallas.

The duo of Monta Ellis and Jose Calderon should dice up the Lakers’ backcourt in this game, and the battle between Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki should be very offensive in nature. Neither are the best defenders in the NBA, and both are more than capable of scoring on one another.

This season, the Mavs have also been very good at cashing the over against opponents from their conference. Against the West this season, the Mavs have cashed the over in 13 of their 21 total games against their own conference. I see the over being the play tonight for our free nba picks.

NBA Pick: OVER 209
