Top Expert NBA ATS Picks

Hornets -6 (-110)

The Hornets are averaging 112.9 points per game, second-best in the NBA. Miles Bridges leads all Hornet scorers with 20.2 points per game. Second-year emerging star LaMelo Ball is creeping up just behind with 19.4, as well as 7.8 assists.

On the other side of this matchup, the Rockets come in with one of the worst offenses in the league, averaging just 111.5 points per game. Losers of nine of their last 10, the Rockets have been losing by an average of nine points over their last three.

I like for the Hornets to carry their momentum from last night’s 133 point performance versus the Minnesota Timberwolves over to this one. – Covers

Nets -1.5 (-110)

The one area the Phoenix Suns have struggled with is this season is performing on the second night of a back-to-back. The Suns have not covered the spread in any of the three games they've played on no rest. One of their three losses has come in those contests.

While Phoenix has figured it out on the defensive end with an efficiency rating south of 100 in two of its last four, the Suns also averaged a defensive rating around 112 against the Spurs and Cavaliers — two offensively-inept teams. The Suns should be in for a rude awakening against a Nets team that just scored 125.5 points per 100 possessions on a good Celtics defense a few days ago. - Ducey

Mavericks -7 (-110)

Dallas lost only one of seven home games so far in the season. Washington lost each of its last three road games. The Mavs are way stronger with Luka Doncic on the floor, and that was evident against the Clippers, who beat the Mavericks without Doncic only a couple of nights before. Given that the Mavs are 5-1 ATS in their last six, I can conclude that they have been quite grateful to the ATS bettors. Even though Washington has a better ATS record than Dallas right now, the Wizards are just 5-5 on the road. That’s why I am backing the Mavs in this one. - Lipka

Top Expert NBA O/U Picks

Suns/Nets Over 224 (-110)

Two potential NBA Finals teams will go at it tonight in Brooklyn as the Phoenix Suns will look to extend their winning streak to 16. During the streak, which is the second-longest in franchise history, the Suns are averaging 114.3 points per game

For the Brooklyn Nets, a slow start has been followed up by a tear as they’ve won 12 of their last 14 and putting the East back on notice. Averaging 118.3 points over their last three games, the Nets should hold up their end of the bargain in getting this one Over.  – Covers

Hawks/Knicks Over 216.5 (-110)

Atlanta is 7-6 to the Over in games where it's favored, and the Hawks are five-point underdogs at home on Saturday. This defense has been average at best this season after a strong showing in the playoffs last year, and it's been a particular liability at the point guard position where Trae Young has been a human turnstile. New York has a plethora of high-powered offensive guards which should create havoc in Atlanta.

On the other side, those guards — namely Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier — can't defend, and the Knicks have rated poorly on that end of the floor. Atlanta's offense has scored 122.8 points per 100 possessions in the last six games, the most in basketball. That grades out as the third-best unit in the league this year. I think this should fly over a relatively low number. - Ducey

Pelicans/Jazz Under 215.5 (-110)

It’s going to be the second of back-to-back games between these teams. Even though each side will learn a lot about the opponent from game one, I still expect the hosts to secure a convincing win. Utah is a dominant team comparing it to New Orleans as it has a top-five offense and top-five defense. The interior will be the Pels’ biggest problem. First of all, they don’t have a dominant center that is capable of facing Rudy Gobert. Secondly, Gobert is the best interior defender in the league, and even when he is on the bench, Hassan Whiteside is there to be a nightmare to the rivals.

This is the type of matchup that ends with a 110-90 finish, not nearly close enough to push the Over. The Jazz have too many solutions for any offensive tricks the Pelicans try.- Lipka
