Cavaliers +4.5 (-105)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are quietly turning into a covering machine led by Rookie of the Year candidate Evan Mobley who is emerging as the leader of this young team. It’s also worth noting their only losses over the past two weeks have come against the Suns, Warriors, and Nets.

For the home Miami Heat issues are rampant on the injury front as Jimmy Buttler (Tail Bone) and Bam Adebayo (Thumb Sprain) are questionable tonight ahead of this one, although Tyler Herro is likely to return. Look for the Cavaliers to keep this one close and cover their eighth game in 11 tries. – Covers

Timberwolves +4.5 (-110)

Yes, Minnesota is dealing with some injuries here with Anthony Edwards, Jaylen Nowell, and Jarred Vanderbilt listed as questionable due to a non-COVID illness. They will still have Karl-Anthony Towns here and with him a great chance of winning on the road in Washington.

The Wizards have been slumping, and there was no worse result than a loss to the Spurs, a game where they managed just 99 points against one of the league's worst defenses. Now, they will meet the sixth-best defense in the NBA and will do so with a liability on the defensive end. Washington is allowing 65.7% shooting in the restricted area this year, and the Timberwolves are taking the fourth-most field goal attempts at the rim. On top of that, Minnesota has been exceptional at defending inside and should eliminate the scoring help from Montrezl Harrell on the other side. - Ducey

Wizards -4.5 (-105)

Minnesota is playing quite well of late, but when it comes to the NBA you have to speculate on which guys will be available for the most part. There is a flu bug going around the Wolves, and I’m skeptical that Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, and Jarred Vanderbilt will play because of it. They are all listed as questionable. Starting point guard Patrick Beverley is out injured.

Washington is healthy for the most part and they should cover the small number. Minnesota is 1-4 ATS in its past five as a road dog. Washington is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 at home. - Jordan

Rockets-Thunder Under 216 (-115)

These two bottom-feeder teams will face off for the third time in two weeks tonight. Staying under by an average of 25 points in their last two, these two know each other quite well at this point on both sides of the ball. The Under has hit in every matchup these teams have played this season

Additionally, Houston is starting to play better ball, having won three straight. They're notably relying on their defense which is improving each and every night. – Covers

Sixers-Celtics Under 206.5 (-110)

These two teams have refused to push the ball up the floor and have played some of the slowest-paced basketball in the league of late. The Sixers rank 22nd in that regard over the last five games and should bring this game to a screeching halt.

The Sixers will have no reason to try shots from outside here against one of the worst restricted area defenses in the NBA. On the other side of the coin, the Sixers' defense has been exceptional since Joel Embiid returned with a 100.5 efficiency rating on that end in the two games they've played with him. Boston is even better at 100 over the last two games.

Shots from the outside should come at a premium. The pace should be slow, and this should be a rock fight. - Ducey

Hornets-Bucks Under 230 (-105)

Charlotte is without starting center Mason Plumlee and key reserve Cody Martin is questionable, which is about a combined 16 points per game. Frankly, though, I’m going Under this total because it’s the highest I have seen in the NBA in weeks. If you go simply by each team’s defensive average points allowed, there would be about 221 points scored. By average combined points scored, about 224. This is just too high of a number to get behind. The Under is 5-2 in Charlotte’s past seven as an underdog and is 13-5 in the Bucks’ past 18 overall. - Jordan
