Our NBA handicapping professional continues his daily assault on the sportsbooks with his outstanding run on totals. He has two more NBA picks lined up for tonight.

Houston Rockets vs. Memphis Grizzlies 8:05 PM ET
There’s no doubt at this juncture that Memphis isn’t close to being the defensive team they were a season ago. They’re allowing 102.2 points per game, opponents are shooting 47.3% from the field, and that includes 39.3% from beyond the three point line.  The Grizzlies have gone over the total in their previous three games, and there were a combined 219.0 points scored per contest. They’ve allowed 105.0 points per contest in their last four games, and opponents have shot 48% or better from the floor on each of those occasions. This will be their first meeting with Houston this year, and all four of their encounters went over the total a season ago.

Houston has seen their last three, and six of the previous eight games go over the total. The Rockets have been awful defensively this season, evidenced by them allowing 108.1 points per game. They’ve allowed 103 points or more in each of their previous eight outings.

I like this game to be a high scoring affair, and one of my NBA picks on Friday will emulate that prediction.

Toronto Raptors vs. Los Angeles Lakers 10:35 PM ET
The Raptors will be playing with heavy legs tonight. This will be their third game in four days, fourth in the last six days, and each of those contests will have been played on the road. Toronto has gone 8-3 under the total in their last eleven games, and that includes 6-2 during its previous eight on the road.

The Lakers have gone 6-1 under the total during their previous seven games. During that stretch they allowed 101 points or less on six of those occasions, and scored 101 or less all seven times.

Besides the tough road grind Toronto has been faced with recently, they’ll be playing in their 7th game overall in the last eleven days. I fully expect the Raptors to slow the pace of this game down, and conserve whatever energy they have left. In addition, I don’t expect Toronto to have a particularly good shooting night with everything being considered.  With current NBA odds, let's make the best of it.
