It's Wednesdsay and on the board, there's a ton of appealing totals in the NBA to choose from as we set our set ourselves up nicely for the weekend. Here are the picks in which we think there is a decisive edge.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Denver Nuggets - Total 212
This is a matchup of one of the highest totals of the night with two below average defenses and above average offenses in the Mavs and the Nuggets.

Denver is shockingly a 2 point favorite despite their 17-20 record as the Nuggets have won 4 straight games and have scored 110 or more points in 3 out of those 4 games. They face a Dallas team which has has a superb season and is coming off of a 108-104 victory in Sacramento in overtime last night. Dallas has allowed opponents to score 104 or more points in 3 of their last games. As I look at the trends, most of them lead to the under, but I'm leaning towards the over in this game,

A Successful Tuesday
In last night's victory over Sacramento, all 5 Mavericks starters scored in double figures and we're hoping for something similar tonight. Rajon Rondo, who is capable of a triple double on any given night and looks to defer over shooting the ball, is finally looking to take matters into his own hands. Last night, he had 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Although Dallas would take 21 points from Rondo any time, expect that total to decrease tonight as they have plenty of offensive firepower in Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis, and Chandler Parsons. Although Monta is the go to guy on this team at the present time, Dirk is still capable of putting up 30 points and against a Nuggets team which allows 103.6 points per game, Dallas should have no trouble scoring points tonight, so think about it when placing your NBA picks.

The Nuggets are coming off of a huge 118 point output against these same Sacramento Kings. This is a game in which Kenneth Faried, who had really been on a tear as of late, wasn't a major factor in the game. Whether it's Faried or Arron Afflalo or J.J. Hickson off the bench, the Nuggets have a great deal of support for Ty Lawson.

Raising the Bar
Lately, Arron Afflalo has been the go to guy. In his last 5 games, he's averaging 23 points on 55.3% from the field and will be a major factor against Dallas as this game is placed properly with a high total and the total should be eclipsed.

Philadelphia 76'ers vs. Toronto Raptors - Total 202
You get one the most improved teams in the league in the Toronto Raptors as they host one of the worst teams in the league in the Philadelphia 76'ers. The Sixers are a huge 16.5 point underdog in this game and that could come into play if Toronto sits their starters and this game becomes a blowout.

Toronto has lost 4 out of their last 5 games while allowing 114 points or more in 3 out of their last 5 games, but I don't expect that to happen here. Philly at 7-30, can make any team look good on any given day. While the Sixers have found some contributing players in Tony Wroten and Robert Covington, it hasn't equated to wins. Philadelphia has offensive options, but not enough consistent options and the only way that this game will go over the total is if Toronto provides a ton of offense and doesn't sit their starters.

DeMar DeRozan- A Game Time Decision
DeRozan along with Kyle Lowry is one of the leaders on the team. He helped Toronto get off to a 13-2 start. It really won't matter in this game as it will take DeRozan a bit of time to shake off the rust.

The key players in this game will be Lowry, who is averaging 20.4 points per game and Jonas Valanciunas. Valanciunas had a career high 31 points on an amazing 14 of 15 shooting from the field in his last game and has averaged 19.3 points per game in his last 4 games. Lowry has actually been the 2nd option for Toronto lately as he's averaging 14.5 points per game in his last 2 contests.

The bottom line in this game is even if the Raptors offense erupts like it should, the SIxers offense is abysmal and odds makers have placed the total a bit too high. Philadelphia's offense will keep the betting total below 202 on our NBA odds.
