Thanks to a second-half surge from the Thunder, which may or may not have included SGA spending most of the night working the refs to get to the free-throw line, it's clear the MVP is surrounded with talent he can lean on.
Though he finished with 31 points, Gilgeous-Alexander went just 10-for-27 from the floor, so I'm focusing on his rebounding and passing in Game 2. The trio of Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, and Isaiah Hartenstein took advantage of more than a few dimes from SGA on his way to racking up nine apples in Game 1.
With Minnesota homing in on slowing the Canadian and his scoring, he should be able to help get open looks for his teammates while exposing a Timberwolves team that allowed opposing point guards to average 14.36 rebounds and assists during the regular season.
Meanwhile, Edwards should come out firing from behind the arc after going a respectable 3-for-8 (37.5%) in Game 1. In his final three games against the Golden State Warriors, Ant went 16-for-34 shooting from deep (47%). That clearly worked for the T-Wolves, as Minnesota is 6-0 this postseason when Edwards hits four-plus threes.
However, even if Edwards lights it up from distance, Minnesota could endure a hard time scoring enough points to cover. The Thunder ranked No. 1 in defensive rating (107.5) while allowing the third-fewest points per game (107.6) during the regular season.
A huge reason why is because of SGA and Jalen Williams being such pests as on-ball defenders. Williams proved to be a massive problem for Minnesota in Game 1, racking up five steals to give him two-plus in three of his last five games. He's averaging 2.6 over that stretch.
With OKC being the best team against the spread this season (58-33-4), and hitting the Under in seven of 12 playoff games, I'm projecting a 108-99 win for the Thunder in Game 2.
