The Bulls are one of the bigger favorites on the NBA odds board for tonight's home game against Minnesota. Will they cover the sizable number?

Odds Overview
When we glance over the available NBA odds, we find the Bulls favored by 9.5 points at most of the popular sportsbooks, and we'll have to keep checking back to see if there's any movement on that number ahead of tipoff.

A reasonable total of 198 has been posted on the board -- would you be surprised to know Minnesota has actually performed better defensively than Chicago? The Timberwolves are eighth in scoring defense on the season, with the Bulls all the way down in 16th.

Chicago Bulls
All in all it's been a reasonable solid start for the Bulls under new coach Fred Hoiberg. They've gone 4-2 through their first six games, with the two losses coming on the road against Charlotte and Detroit. Chicago has gone a perfect 3-0 at home and will look to protect that spotless record in the Windy City this evening.

When we last saw the Bulls take the court, they were able to hold on in a 104-98 win over Oklahoma City on Thursday. Jimmy Cutler was his typical steady self, scoring 26 points on 8-of-20 shooting, but it was Derrick Rose that stole the headlines in what was easily his best overall performance of the young season. Rose relished the challenge of going against one of the game's best players in Russell Westbrook, finishing with 29 points, seven assists and five boards in 37 minutes of action. As a team, Chicago shot 44.4 percent overall and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.

As far as the overall statistics go, the Bulls have been middle of the road both offensively and defensively; they're scoring 101.2 points per game (17th in the NBA) and allowing 101.3 points a contest (16th).

Minnesota Timberwolves
One of the more exciting young teams in the league, the Timberwolves are 2-2 through four games, with wins over the Lakers and Nuggets (both on the road) and losses to Portland and Miami (both at home). Will the trend of showing up away from home keep going tonight against the Bulls?

Rookie Karl-Anthony Towns has enjoyed a nice start to his NBA career, as he's averaging 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds a game, with Kevin Martin, Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins all averaging in double figures too. Opting to spread the minutes around quite a bit, no one on the Minnesota roster has averaged more than 30 minutes per game thus far this season.

The Timberwolves, however, have done very well defensively, giving up just 97.8 points per game, the sixth-best mark in the league. That's made up for an ineffectual offense that is ranked 21st in scoring.

NBA Pick
The inconsistency has been a little worrying when it comes to the Bulls this season, but this is a favorable matchup for them at home, just days after they outlasted Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Thunder on primetime television.

Some may be thinking a letdown is in store against a less talented Minnesota team, but we're going the other way with this NBA Pick and backing the Bulls to control this game from start to finish. The "re-emergence" of Rose is a great sign for Chicago, as he was outstanding against the Thunder and his offensive ability really opens things up for the rest of the team.

Still undefeated at home (with wins over Oklahoma City, Orlando and Cleveland), we expect the Bulls to keep that streak alive. They've beaten two of the better teams in the NBA on their own floor, so we don't believe they'll have a ton of trouble getting it done against the young Timberwolves.

NBA Pick: Chicago Bulls -9.5 at 5Dimes
