I want everyone to give me their best Macho Man impression. Oh Yeah! What should get you even more fired up is that it’s once again time to bring back our Thursday NBA picks parlay.

Hawks vs. Knicks
Being that it’s the beginning of the season, and bettors and teams are still figuring out what a certain team is going to look like on any given night, it’s hard to bet the NBA. That was evident on opening night when the Pistons blasted the Hawks, and last night when the Knicks on the road beat down the Bucks. There are several reasons for this. The Hawks aren’t as good as they were last season, and the Bucks were missing two starters. However, tonight against one another, the NBA odds have the Hawks as -4 ½ favorites, and I am looking for some course correction in this game.

There is no way the Hawks play as bad as they did on opening night, and after New York played last night, even in Madison Square Garden, I am finding it hard not to lay the points with Atlanta here. Outside of Carmelo Anthony, the Hawks have the next three best players on the floor, and while I do think New York is a talented team, I’m not sure how they will respond after their win last night. Early in the season without much else to go on, it’s hard not to, but with the NBA betting odds for this one dropping because of bettors overvaluing the Knicks after one game, give me the rested Hawks as a small favorite any day of the week as the first leg of our parlay.

Grizzlies vs. Pacers
Speaking of teams that started the season looking nothing like last season, the Grizzlies and Pacers will hook up tonight from Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The NBA Odds have Memphis as a slight road favorite in this one, but after last night, you might start to think about fading them and taking the points with the home team here. However, I am going to do neither, because the NBA Odds for the total in this one are going in the wrong direction. I said in my video this morning I liked the under at 187, and now the total is up to 188 ½. Memphis should slow this game down enough to where Indiana has a tough time running their small lineup, and if that’s the case this game screams for the under.

Memphis’ offense last night looked awful, and while that may be a one game factor, we could also be seeing the beginning of the end of this Grizzlies team as currently constructed. Outside of Marc Gasol and maybe Mike Conley, this team struggles to score. Zach Randolph is not an every night 20 point per game scorer any more, and even against Indiana, they might struggle here on the second night of a back to back. As long as Memphis can bring their own defense in trying to stop the Pacers, I’m going under on this NBA pick tonight.

My NBA Pick: UNDER 188 ½
