I love taking advantage of the sportsbooks inciting overreaction from the betting public. It’s exactly what they’re doing with the NBA Odds between the Thunder and Magic tonight, where Orlando is a +5 ½ underdog at home, with a total of 211 ½.

To the casual observer, two straight losses to the Pistons and Mavericks look pretty bad. However, if you’re paying attention, the Pistons are playing really well in their new arena, and having to play on the road the night after a game like that can hurt any team in the NBA.

This Thunder team is going through some growing pains on offense, which is to be expected, and while the good still outweighs the bad, they are WAY undervalued tonight on the road against another struggling team.

The Magic have lost nine straight games SU and they are 3-5-1 ATS during that stretch. Orlando has very little reliable offense on a nightly basis, and against a strong defensive team coming off three straight games of rest, the Thunder are going to blow the Magic right out of the water if they are hitting shots.

That really doesn’t even need to be the case though. The Thunder’s defense is allowing just 101.4 points per 100 possessions this season, and while their just 22nd in offensive rating this season, that number is slowly climbing, and against Orlando, it will climb even more.

The Magic have allowed almost 120 points per game over their last five, and they are giving up 111 overall this season. If the Thunder can run some semblance of a half court offense that’s not pick and roll or one-on-one, they are going to win this one by double figures after the recent rest.
