Betting Odds
NBA odds have Utah at a -3.5 favorite which seems about the right number. For my selection of the day I'm going to take Utah laying the points against Oklahoma City and put together enough stops to cover the spread.

Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City comes into this game averaging 109.2 points per game, shooting 46.2% from the field, and 35.5% from beyond the arc. Even without Kevin Durant they are still one of the best offensive teams in the NBA and have plenty of weapons. They just got off a very emotional game versus Dallas until I look for them to come in this game not quite as sharp as they have been this season. Along with their high-scoring offense they are also second in the NBA in total rebounds at 57.4 per contest.

Defensively OKC is allowing 104.5 points per game, 43.4% shooting from the field, and 37% to be on the arc. For the most part they have been formidable on the defensive end but not so great defending the paint allowing 43.7 points per game in the interior which ranks 23rd in the NBA. That could pose a problem against the Utah team that has some tough inside presence both offenses only and defensively.

Utah Jazz
Utah is averaging 95.1 point per game, shooting 43.5% from the field, and 35.1% from beyond the arc. Head coach Quin Snyder has a nice job finding the identity of this team and is put a premium on defense. They are decent three point shooting team ranking 15th and the NBA in three-point percentage, but they do most of their damage in the paint where they rank 11th in the NBA at 43.8 points per game. Derek Favors is starting to break out as a really solid interior player.

Defensively Utah is allowing 92.4 points per game, 42.8% shooting from the field, and 34.1% from beyond the arc. Here we get to the main point of this play and how well Utah has been on this end of the four. For them it's been a combination of pace and overall solid defense stretching from the three-point line into the paint. They rank first in the league in opponent points in the paint at 36 per game, and opponent assist per game at just 17.2 per contest. They also rank first in opponents field goal made per game at just 32.6 per contest, and against the Thunder tonight you can expect them to do their best to control the tempo.

I am anticipating Utah to control the pace of this game and keep the transition happy Oklahoma City Thunder from getting up and down the floor. For one of your NBA picks today I recommend taking Utah minus the points to do just that and come out with a solid win against OKC.

NBA Pick: Jazz -3 at TheGreek

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2882668, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,19,93,92,238,349], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
