When the Thunder visit the Warriors it looks like they will be without Stephen Adams which could play a big factor in this matchup. Oddsmakers have come out making Golden State a big home favorite but can OKC keep this game interesting?

Oklahoma City Thunder

Oklahoma City is averaging 106.5 points per game and making 39.5 field goals per game both of which rank them 10th in the NBA. Of course the big story with them is Russell Westbrook and his amazing run of triple doubles, but the issue for them tonight will be the fact that they are going to be without one of their best players in Stephen Adams. Still, this is a well-rounded Oklahoma City team that plays good basketball on both sides of the ball shooting 51.5% on their two-point shots ranking fourth in the NBA, and averaging 50.2 points in the paint which ranks him second. In my opinion they are simply getting too many points in this spot despite the fact Golden State just got done blowing out Cleveland. Defensively Oklahoma City I believe matches up decently well with Golden State and they do rank 10th and 11th in the league in opponent effective field-goal percentage and shooting efficiency. Although they won’t beat Golden State at Golden State I do expect them to stay within this big number.

 Golden State Warriors

Golden State just got done destroying Cleveland and might be in for a little bit of a letdown in this contest. Currently the Warriors rank first in the NBA in every major offensive statistic across the board from overall shooting percentage, to shooting efficiency, to effective field-goal percentage. What should put the NBA on notice though is the fact that Golden State is picking things up on the defensive end. Currently Golden State ranks first, second, and third, in opponent three-point, overall, and two-point shooting percentage respectively. Right now they are arguably the most well-rounded team in the NBA and look like they are ready to go on a huge winning streak. All that being said, and I do expect them to win, I do not see Golden State covering this big spread even against Oklahoma City without Stephen Adams. Expect Oklahoma City to keep this game at least semi-interesting for the most part.

 NBA Odds

Oddsmakers have come out making Golden State a -12.5 favorite. Although this line makes some sense considering how dominant they looked the other night for my NBA pick I’m going to back OKC plus the points. Look for Russell Westbrook to help his team keep it interesting.
