The NBA season starts Tuesday and there are a ton of season-long plays that look intriguing. I am here to help you weed through the muck and give you three plays that look like strong picks.

Coach of the Year

Bovada has some nice odds on guys to lead the league in points, rebounds and assists, but the real value is coming from the Coach of the Year award. The voting from the sports writers is pretty good year to year, and there are some nice things going this season.

For starters, we had a new multi-time winner last season in Houston's Mike D’Antoni. He joined seven other coaches in NBA history to have won the award multiple times. One of those guys is San Antonio's Gregg Popovich, a three-time winner. However, for either Popovich or D’Antoni to win the award again this season, they will have to either beat out the Warriors in the regular season or come really close to.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. So, if we can take away those two, and especially D’Antoni because it’s even harder to win back-to-back Coach of the Year awards, that leaves a couple nice values. Golden State's Steve Kerr at +700 and OKC's Billy Donovan scare me a little for separate reasons, but the clear-cut favorite in this one is Boston's Brad Stevens.

If you listen to media members talk about Stevens, it’s like he won a championship in his first season. They love him! They love him so much that he has a good team now, and those two things combined equal a Coach of the Year. If the Celtics win 58-60 games in a horrible East, and maybe even beat out the Cavs for the No. 1 seed in the East again, Stevens is getting the award.

At +400, this is a no-brainer for me. With Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward being added, Celtics are the only team that will challenge Cleveland in the East. If they do that, Stevens is the winner of this award.

Will Tristan Thompson Propose To Khloe Kardashian?

Are you kidding me? Of course the Cavs' Thompson will fall into the trap and propose to Kardashian! That whole family has mind control powers! Don’t believe me? Someone close to you probably cares about what they’re up to, which should be classified as a mental disorder.

There is also the fact that Thompson’s seed currently grows inside her belly. In the civilized world, even if you knock up a Kardashian, you should probably put a ring on her finger. Thompson makes pretty good money too, so my guess is this chalky play is worth the risk! Kardashians love rich athletes.

Brooklyn Nets O/U 26.5 Wins

The Nets have been one of the worst teams in the NBA over the last few seasons, and they likely won’t improve much this season. However, after only winning 20 games last year with the conference getting worse, the Nets may actually flirt with 30 wins this season.

It’s not hard to believe. There are half a dozen teams in the East that could legitimately be worse than the Nets. Plus, Brooklyn has gotten better from last season. A healthy Jeremy Lin with D’Angelo Russell and Allen Crabbe is a formidable backcourt. Along with some nice frontcourt defense and you have a team that can get wins.

The best part is also the Nets have no incentive to tank. Cleveland currently owns their first-round pick this season, and you can bet they don’t want to lose a top 3 pick. I see them fighting all season under Coach Kenny Atkinson and getting to 29 wins.
