Despite just four contests, half the games have seen significant NBA odds alterations and we have the latest updates. Also, we are on top of the line moves in college basketball and the NHL.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons 7:35 ET  FS-OH, FS-DT
This Central Division showdown has those placing NBA picks clashing with sportsbooks on the total. The total is up two points to 205.5 in spite of the fact both teams have shown improvement on defense, with Cleveland an NBA-best 16-2 since Jan. 15 and Detroit 18-10 after a 5-23 start. One has to use basketball analytics to understand why the total should be on the rise as since Christmas, the Pistons and Cavaliers have been among the most efficient offenses in points per 100 possessions at 106.5 and 106.6 respectively. Not an overwhelming feeling on this, but do like Detroit 17-5 OVER at home having covered three of four.

NBA Pick – Lean Over

Toronto Raptors vs. Dallas Mavericks 8:35 ET  TSN, FS-SW
This has very much the feel of a conflicted contest for NBA basketball handicappers and those making sports picks. Who is Toronto, the squad which ambushed Atlanta after the break 105-80 or the team that was humbled by Houston 98-76 in the next game and lost at New Orleans yesterday by three who played without Anthony Davis? What about Dallas, after a pair of home wins and covers they still are only at 10-15-3 ATS as home favorites. However, the wagering public has spoken and lifted the Mavericks from -3 to -4.5 on the NBA odds, as the Raptors will be playing fourth away game in five days.

NBA Pick – Lean Dallas

Texas vs. West Virginia 7:00 ET  ESPN
After playing like a worn out outfit in dropping three of four, West Virginia has played with vigor in beating Kansas at home and knocking off Oklahoma State on the road. "The confidence to beat Kansas and just play the way we played against them," said Juwan Staten. "We're just trying to stay within ourselves, do what we're supposed to do and just see what happens." Texas appeared they were on the rise, but losses to Oklahoma and Iowa State has the Longhorns adrift again. The betting odds are in the Mountaineers favor, up two digits to -5. While any sports bettor has to be impressed with Texas 9-2 ATS record on the road, the NCAA Basketball odds might be showing the key with the total at 136.5, since West Virginia is 18-0 and 13-3 ATS when they hold opponents under 71 points.

NCAA Basketball Pick – Lean West Virginia

UNLV vs. Utah State 9:30 ET CBSSN
This Mountain West clash is thought to be more offensive than originally believed. The total has been jettisoned from 131 to 134.5 and there is ample support to think this is the right direction for a move. UNLV is 7-1 OVER in true away games this season and Utah State is 12-3 OVER since last year in MWC home contests. Having lost 79-77 at UNLV exactly a month ago (total was 125.5), the Aggies are 8-1 OVER playing with home revenge. Toss in Utah State is 7-0 OVER as a home favorite of six points or less (-3.5) and this has the making of another higher scoring affair, so take the over with your NCAA Baskeball picks.

NCAA Basketball Pick – Play Over

Calgary Flames vs. N.Y. Rangers 7:05 ET  SN-W, MSG
Calgary remains in contention in the Western Conference for a wild card spot, but the Flames will have to play better against the other conference as they embark on a seven-game Eastern swing. Calgary has the second-worst record among West clubs versus the East at 8-14 SU and faces a New York Rangers team which is 9-3 of late, with two of the losses past regulation. The Blueshirts have drawn the support and have been moved from -170 to -185 on the money line. The Rangers have been peppering the opposing goaltender and are 13-2 after 33 or more shots on goal in three consecutive games so back 'em up with your NHL picks

NHL Pick – New York wins
