The ACC Tournament begins today and actually has two games in which the betting odds have changed dramatically, with Boston College up from -1 to -3.5 in the opener against Georgia Tech.

Time would not permit us to get that in right way, thus we will review the other contest along with the happenings in the NBA and offers top trends for sports picks later today. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (419-369 L147D)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Dallas Mavericks  8:35 ET  FS-OH, FS-SW
For LeBron James, this is one team he cannot forget. Having lost to Dallas in The Finals in his first year in Miami and having a very poor close to that series, James has averaged 2.2 points on 63.3 percent shooting, while winning all six regular-season meetings with the Mavericks since. "It brings back memories for sure," James said. "Memories that I try to forget, that I will probably never be able to forget. But it's built me into who I am today." Those placing NBA picks are expecting LeBron and his different teammates to have another strong game and raised the Cavaliers from -3.5 to -5. Dallas is only 1-5 ATS in their last six and will be a home underdog for the first time this campaign. As has been mentioned before here, the SU winner in a Cavs game is 37-3 ATS since Dec. 21 and two of spread losses missed being a Push by one point.

Detroit Pistons vs. L.A. Lakers 10:35 ET  FS-D, TWC-SN
Both the Pistons and Lakers are on lengthy losing streaks, with Detroit up to six and Los Angeles at five. Those pursuing the NBA odds total for this matchup are convinced the sportsbooks are in error and lifted the total from 198.5 to 200.5. Contributing to this thought process is both squads are allowing over 101 points per game and though both offenses will scuffle to score from time to time, each is being counted on to face a defense that will cure shooting woes. This could go either way, but we will take the trendy approach and consider Detroit is 19-10 UNDER on the road and the Lakers are 10-2 UNDER when the line is +3 to -3 this season, like it is for this contest.

Virginia Tech vs. Wake Forest  3:30 ET  ESPN2
In the second game of the ACC tourney opening round, despite a 2-11 SU away record (6-7 ATS); Wake Forest is up three points as a favorite to -4.5 on the posted NCAA Basketball odds. The Demon Deacons take on a Boston College crew which was 1-12 SU (7-6 ATS) away from Chestnut Hill. Wake Forest won the lone encounter this season at home 73-70 as eight-point home favorites. While the numbers don’t necessarily support this alteration, Virginia Tech has the poorer talent and Wake can be expected to pull away in the second half and beat the oddsmakers adjusted figure.

Green Bay vs. Valparaiso  7:00 ET  ESPN
The Horizon League title is up for grabs with the two top squads competing to enter the Big Dance. Green Bay and Valpo have played two hotly contested defensive games, with the Phoenix a 51-50 winner at home and the Crusaders escaping by four at their place. Valparaiso covered both times and being the tournament host, numerous college basketball handicappers and those placing NCAA Basketball picks are thinking the Crusaders are the choice and sent them from -2.5 to -4. Valpo has won five in a row over Green Bay at home (2-3 ATS). The difference in this confrontation could well come down to three-point shooting and Valpo averages three more made 3’s per game. Nonetheless, the quick hands of the Phoenix have been disruptive to the Crusaders offense and this could well be a two or three-point outcome.
