The Portland Trail Blazers (36-34) visit the American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Mavericks (34-35). The line is at a PK on the NBA odds board and the total is set at 213.

Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers ended their two-game losing streak with a 117-112 win against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Trail Blazers recovered from a blown 20-point lead behind 33 points from Damian Lillard and 30 points from C.J. McCollum, including a key three-pointer with a minute left in the game. Portland is in sixth place in the Western Conference standings, a game and a half over Dallas.

The Trail Blazers average 104.3 points per game (eighth in the league) and shoot 44.9 percent from the floor and 36.8 percent from three-point range (fifth in the NBA) and they pull down 45.6 rebounds per game. Portland allows 103.7 points per game and their opponents shoot 45.1 percent overall and 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and grab 43.4 rebounds per game.

Damian Lillard leads the team with 25.8 points and 6.9 assists, C.J. McCollum averages 20.9 points and a team-best 1.1 steals and Allen Crabbe adds 10.2 points per game.

Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are playing their worst basketball of the season, losing seven of their last eight games, including a tough 130-112 home setback against the Golden State Warriors last Friday. The Mavs just had no answer for Klay Thompson, who hit 10 of 15 three-pointers to finish with 39 points while Stephen Curry added 31 points. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 24 points as Dallas fell under .500 for the first time since November 11.

The Mavericks average 102.5 points per game (14th in the league) on 44.4 percent shooting overall and 34.1 percent shooting from three-point range and they pull down 42.9 rebounds per game. Defensively, Dallas allows 103.1 points per game and their opponents shoot 45.1 percent from the floor and 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and grab 46.3 rebounds per game.

Dirk Nowitzki leads the Mavericks with 18.4 points and 0.8 blocks, Deron Williams adds 13.7 points and a team-best 5.6 assists and Chandler Parsons adds 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Betting Trends
The Trail Blazers are 40-30 ATS, 12-7 ATS when the total is greater than or equal to 210, 21-16 ATS in road games, 21-11 ATS after allowing 105 points or more and 14-7 ATS in the second half of the season. The Mavericks are 6-9 ATS when the total is greater than or equal to 210, 6-12 ATS in the second half of the season and 16-17 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record.

Final Analysis
The line is at a PK on the NBA odds board and the total has been set at 213. This will be the second meeting of the season between these two teams. The Mavericks beat the Trail Blazers 115-112 in overtime on December 1 in Portland behind 30 points from Deron Williams and 28 points from Dirk Nowitzki. Damian Lillard finished with 25 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds for the Trail Blazers. This is a must-win game for both teams. The Trail Blazers and the Mavericks are evenly matched but I can't back the Mavericks right now, especially because Deron Williams is questionable for this game, although he stated that he will play. I'm taking the Trail Blazers at a PK with one of my NBA picks.
