Take Phoenix +1 over Suns for you NBA Picks

While the Warriors have been staggering, the Suns are catching fire during the chill of December but which team covers the NBA odds in the desert tonight?

Golden State Warriors (13-11 SU, 11-12-1 ATS)

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are like having a pair of Gatling guns in the backcourt. They are ready to fire and hit on a moment's notice which has translated in the Warriors possessing the most prolific scoring backcourt duo in the league, averaging 44.2 points per game combined.

However, in their last game against the Rockets Friday night, the backcourt duo was misfiring from downtown and it ultimately dashed any hope that Golden State would leave their fans happy. Curry and Thompson hit only 2 of 12 from beyond the arc and the Warriors left town with the sting of a 116-112 home loss to Houston.

The Warriors own a record of 2-3 over their last five games and not so coincidentally Klay Thompson has dropped from a three-point shooting average of 43.9% all the way down to 29.7% during that five-game span. Golden State has a solid offensive presence from their sharpshooting backcourt to David Lee at power forward and big man Andrew Bogut who has been a force on the boards all year but has recently been a beast, averaging over 13 rebounds per game during the last four contests.

Phoenix Suns (13-9 SU, 16-5-1 ATS)

The Suns are shining brightly as they look for their fifth consecutive victory and more importantly, their fifth consecutive cover in NBA odds. Their latest victim was the Sacramento Kings whom they crowned to the tune of 116-107 as six-point home chalk in NBA odds

If you're trying to find a reason to believe in Phoenix being a legitimate threat this season you will need to look beyond the stats because the numbers will only indicate that the Suns can score better than most, averaging 102.4 PPG (ranking them 11th) but beyond that, they're a fairly vanilla group.

But what's proving to be the hot fudge, whip cream and maraschino cherry to this vanilla ice cream is the suddenly emerging backcourt of Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic. Apparently they want fans to know that the Warriors backcourt isn't the only dynamic duo worth watching tonight. Bledsoe and Dragic were locked on all night hitting 21-of 30 and dropping 57 combined points on the Kings while securing the victory for both Suns fans and their backers in NBA odds.

Free NBA Pick:

The Warriors have dominated this series recently, securing six consecutive victories and going 5-1 against the spread in NBA odds.  But the two games played in Phoenix last season were decided by an average of three points so this one will probably be a nail biter as well.  If you're looking for a solid option in your NBA picks tonight, I can think of - oh, let's see how many other games are on the board tonight - five other options that might serve you better.

But as far as this one is concerned we have to take a look at the momentum going into this game.  Phoenix has been swallowing opponents whole as a result, partially anyway, of the sudden simpatico between Bledsoe and Dragic in the Suns' backcourt.  Bledsoe was acquired in the offseason from the Clippers and his new home has proven to be a career renaissance for the former Kentucky Wildcat.

I realize the Warriors have taken the Suns to task over the past few years and they should hold a pretty good edge on the boards but  this game will be decided by an emerging offense breaking down a very average defense.
