Two of the best teams in the Western Conference go head-to-head in Portland tonight. Who should we side with when placing our NBA picks?

Odds Overview
Both teams have been terrific early on in this season, so it's no surprise to see a tight line on the NBA odds board. For now, Portland is favored by 3.5 points at many of the major betting sites.

The O/U is currently trading at 192.5, with 193 also available at certain books. Keep track with the live line movement and get the best available value by using our SBR Odds monitoring service.

Portland Trail Blazers
No team is hotter than the Trail Blazers, who have reeled off an impressive nine-game winning streak ahead of tonight's date with Memphis.

This run has put Portland at 12-3 overall and has already given them a sizable lead in the Northwest Division. They're five games up on Utah and looking like they're going to pull away even further.

Portland's three losses have come at the hands of the Kings, Warriors and Clippers, but since the setback to LA, the Trail Blazers have been on a mission. They haven't lost since November 8th, and during that time they've picked up some good wins along the way, including over the Bulls and upstart Pelicans.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard, of course, are the two cornerstones of the team. Aldridge is having another highly productive season and comes in averaging 21.2 PPG and 9.1 RPG - meanwhile, Lillard is averaging 20.1 PPG, 6.5 APG and 5.3 RPG, quickly becoming one of the best point guards in the league.

The rest of the starting lineup is solid too (Matthews, Batum and Lopez), but now Portland has addressed a major weakness: the bench. The Trail Blazers have added the likes of Chris Kaman and Steve Blake and they've made an immediate impact.

Memphis Grizzlies
Let's not forget about the Memphis Grizzlies either.

They may not have put together a massive winning streak, but they come in having won three in a row and seven of eight. Their one loss in that span came on the road against another good team in Toronto, so it's clear these Grizzlies are in a great way at the moment.

After a couple dominant wins over the Celtics and then the Clippers, Memphis actually had a tougher time against the Lakers two nights ago. The Grizzlies went down to the wire and eventually emerged with a six-point win, but it certainly wasn't a performance to remember out of Marc Gasol and company.

Still, wins are all that matter, and Memphis has already piled up plenty of them. Gasol and Zach Randolph continue to play lights out basketball inside and have formed a great duo, and Mike Conley and Courtney Lee are playing smart, efficient basketball out on the perimeter. This is a fesity bunch, there's no doubt that - just watch Tony Allen play for a couple minutes and you'll see for yourself.

The Grizzlies check in with the NBA's best scoring defense, and will hope they can corral a very talented Portland squad. It's going to be a big test.

NBA Pick
As tough as it is to discern where the best NBA betting value is, it's hard to go against Portland on your NBA picks with the way they're playing. Being at home always helps too.

The balance the Trail Blazers have shown this season has been more than impressive. Unlike Memphis, who have mainly relied on their defense, Portland is ranked sixth in both points scored per game and points allowed per game.

It's hard to find much wrong with the makeup of this Trail Blazers team, as they're solid at every position and have even beefed up their bench. We believe they're worth siding with as short home favorites in what should be one of the best games of the night. Back Portland.
