What could become one of the best rivalries in the Eastern conference takes place tonight when the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Boston Celtics. These two teams have had some competitive contests their last few matchups. Can Boston get the home win?

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland has recently started to revamp their offense and is looking once again like the team to beat in the East. Although they have beaten Boston the last three times they have met I don’t think they will do so again tonight as I like how the Celtics match up with them. Cleveland is once again producing well offensively ranking third in the NBA in effective field-goal percentage, shooting efficiency, and in points scored averaging 111.1 per game. Across the board, they are a very tough team to defend but it is on the other side of the ball in which I think Boston can take advantage and come out with a win tonight.

Currently, Cleveland is allowing opponents to shoot 45.5% overall from the floor which ranks them 16th in the NBA. Because of their tempo opponents can really get up and down the floor and put up some buckets against them as they allow 40.4 opponent field goals made per game which ranks 26th in the league. Expect Boston to do just that.

Boston Celtics

Boston should be extremely motivated for this matchup and like Cleveland they have been playing really good basketball over the past month. The other night they didn’t play particularly well against Atlanta but I expect them to bounce back in a big way by winning this game straight up. I like their balance as not only does Boston rank seventh in the league in scoring averaging 108 points per game they also rank in the middle of the league or better in most defensive statistics.

What will be crucial for them is to defend beyond the arc, but they are one of the best teams in the NBA allowing opponents to shoot just 34% from distance which ranks second in the league? This should be a decently up-tempo affair but at the end of the day, I like for Boston to get the monkey off their back and beat the Cavaliers. There is a reason why oddsmakers have set this line close to a pick.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics

Oddsmakers have made Boston a +1 underdog in this spot and for my NBA pick, I will back them on the plus money line. This is a great spot for them to bounce back from a recent loss and get a key win over one of the best teams in basketball.

Free NBA Pick: Boston +1

Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3068583, "sportsbooksIds":[238,1096,1275,300,180], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]
