By The Numbers is a daily NBA column featuring Swinger’s top selections according to historical trends and game-time matchups. Let’s review the top picks for Wednesday's slate and cash in our NBA picks.

Knicks (26-38 SU, 34-30 ATS) At Bucks (29-33 SU, 26-36 ATS)

  • Milwaukee is 0-7 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games.
  • Milwaukee is 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games as a favorite.
  • Milwaukee is 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
  • Milwaukee is  3-10 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
  • Milwaukee is 1-8 ATS in their last nine games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5.
  • New York is 4-0 ATS in their last four games as an underdog.
  • New York is 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Although the Knicks do not give me a great sense of security whenever I include them in my NBA picks, I have to say that they match up well against the Bucks. If we look at their last three meetings, we find that the Knickerbockers have won two and covered the NBA odds in all three. In addition, it appears as though New York will welcome team captain Carmelo Anthony and his 23.2 points per game average back after a one-game absence due to a bothersome knee. That means we will get a well-rested Carmelo and a Knicks team that is playing competitive ball recently.

Celtics (40-24 SU, 32-30-2 ATS) At Warriors (52-11 SU, 29-32-2 ATS)

  • Golden State is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite.
  • Golden State is 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a straight up win.
  • Golden State is 0-5 ATS in their last five when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Golden State is 0-6 ATS in their last six when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Boston is 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.
  • Boston is 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.
  • Boston is 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points.
  • Boston is 13-6-2 ATS in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The last time the Celtics stepped foot in the Oracle Arena, they dribbled out with a 109-106 victory as 11½-point road dogs to end Golden State's NBA-record 54-game home winning streak. While I admit the Green have not impressed over their last pair of games, both straight up and ATS road losses to Phoenix and the LA Clippers, they are still an upper-echelon team and the Warriors have not been blowing teams out with regularity as evidenced by their 29-32-2 ATS record. Furthermore, the Warriors no longer enjoy the services of Kevin Durant, who is out for the remainder of the regular season.

NBA Free Pick: Celtics +8.5
