By the Numbers is a daily NBA column featuring Swinger’s top selections according to historical trends and game time matchups. Let’s review the top picks for Saturday evening and cash in our NBA picks.

Hornets (24-33 SU, 23-32-2 ATS) vs. Kings (25-33 SU, 29-27-2 ATS)

* Sacramento is 4-1 ATS in their last five after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Sacramento is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games.

* Sacramento is 4-0 ATS in their last four games as a home underdog.

* Sacramento is 4-0 ATS in their last four after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Charlotte is 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up loss.

* Charlotte is 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Charlotte is 2-10 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games.

* Charlotte is  0-7 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite.

Okay so riddle me this. Charlotte is a road favorite because...? I couldn't solve it either but what I can tell you is that the Kings defeated the Hornets, in Charlotte mind you, 109-106 in the only meeting between these clubs this season. In addition, Sacramento has covered the NBA odds in 11 of their last 16 contests while Charlotte has been downright toxic with just two ATS covers in their last 14 outings!

Of course the absence of Boogie Cousins has bettors skeptical about Sacramento but watch out for Willie Cauley-Stein who exploded for 29 points in the Kings' 116-100 blowout of the Nuggets Thursday night. Cauley-Stein may flourish in his increased role sans Cousins and the addition of Buddy Hield and Tyreke Evans, who combined for 31 points in limited action against Denver, will also help this group. The oddsmakers are overcompensating for the public's reaction to the Cousins trade and we will take full advantage here.

Hawks (32-25 SU, 28-29 ATS) vs. Magic (21-38 SU, 24-34-1 ATS)

* Orlando is 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss.

* Orlando is 1-6 ATS in their last seven after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Orlando is 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 Saturday games.

* Orlando is 1-5 ATS in their last six games as a home underdog of 0.5-4.5.

* Atlanta is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss.

* Atlanta is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games.

* Atlanta is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS loss.

* Atlanta is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games playing on zero day's rest.

The last time the Magic hosted the Hawks it was January 4th of this year and if you had Atlanta as a two-point road favorite included in your NBA picks then you walked away a happy man. The Hawks buried the Magic 111-92 and then followed that thrashing up with a 113-86 victory over Orlando exactly one month later in Atlanta. What's really changed? Absolutely nothin'!
