At 12-26, the Phoenix Suns seem appear to be in a bit of trouble as they visit the Chicago Bulls (20-14) at  the United Center.

While the Suns are coming off of a 20 point beating at the hands of Brooklyn, the Bulls went into Madison Square Garden and embarrassed the Knicks.

Tip-off is  scheduled for Saturday at 8:00 pm ET at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

5 Dimes Sportsbook currently lists the Bulls as an 8.5 betting favorite and the total for the game is 188.

My question is “will the 8.5 points be enough for the Suns to cover in our sports picks?”

Massacre at MSG

No folks, nothing to worry about; no random violence. This was just a 108-101 beating that the Chicago Bulls put on the New York Knicks. The final score isn’t indicative of how much pain that the Knicks endured. Luol Deng was the star of the show as he had 33 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Deng is a solid NBA player, but simply put, this was just his night and it ruined many a NBA picks.

Look for Deng, who averages 17.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, to possibly carry over the momentum tonight against Phoenix. Like I said earlier, Deng is a “solid” NBA player. He’s still better than anyone on the Suns team. What does that tell you about Phoenix?

Carlos Boozer

He’s never going to be in the NBA elite, but Carlos Boozer is a player that’s capable of putting up a double on a regular basis. Boozer has really stepped his game as of late. In his last 5 games, he’s averaging  24.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. This is a player that can look like a superstar at times. Nobody on Phoenix can handle the physicality that Boozer brings to the table . Luis Scola is tough, but look for Carlos Boozer to push around the Suns defenders as Chicago will be coming into this game on a major high.

Down In the Dumps

After watching the Thunder put a beating on the Lakers, it’s evident that the Suns don’t need Steve Nash anymore in which he has well past his prime. That said, Goran Dragic doesn’t appear to be the answer. He’s a slightly above average NBA player. It’s difficult for me to believe that he’ll win the Suns an NBA Championship with his inconsistent style of play. The funny thing is, he’s the best player on the Suns roster!!!

Phoenix is coming off of a 99-79 loss at the hands of the Nets, who are in their inaugural season. The bench really hurt Phoenix in this game in which they were just 10 for 34 from the field. This is obviously no relief for a group of starters that are under-performing, themselves.

Looking at the Positive Side

Shooting guard, Jared Dudley, is coming off of a perfect 4 for 4 from 3 point range against Brooklyn. He also scored 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. In his last 3 games, Dudley is averaging 16.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. Even with these numbers from Dudley, Phoenix was unable to come up with a victory. That said, play like this is contagious, and can only help a deficient team’s cause. Look for Dudley to have another nice game, but will it be enough?

The Suns are a team with poor chemistry. They have some decent players on the roster, but don’t work well together as a team. This will be a good matchup of big men with Gortat vs. Noah. Chicago has the size advantage, the better talent, and momentum on their side. The spread is actually too low. Chicago should dispose of Phoenix quite easily.
