It's not the prettiest of schedules here on Sunday, but there still appears to be some value out there on the NBA odds board. Let's get to our best NBA picks Sunday.
Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors
Will the Warriors ever lose a game? Sure, but now that their record has reached 14-0 to start the season, the speculation is going to start ramping up with each passing win.
It's truly been an incredible start for the defending champions, who have already battled through some tough competition to go unbeaten ahead of this road game in Denver. Current NBA Odds show Golden State favored by 11.5 points despite being away from their own court in Oracle Arena, a testament to just how dominant this team has been. Some sites do have a spread of 11 available now if you want to jump on the Warriors at a friendlier number. The total, as you'd expect, is all the way up at 213.5 points, which isn't a surprise at all when you consider the offensive talent that will be on display tonight.
On one side you've got Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, a truly scary backcourt duo that can get scorching hot at any given time. Throw in the likes of Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, Andre Iguodala and some solid role players, and you can see why this team is having so much success. Then you've got the Nuggets, who may have a vastly inferior record but still have plenty of scorers, namely Danilo Gallinari, who's enjoyed a great individual start this season.
Our initial lean was on the OVER for this matchup, but ultimately we're just not going to be comfortable fading the Warriors until they give us a reason to. They've been storming through the obstacles each and every night, and covering large spreads along the way, and we don't see why they won't be able to assert their control over this game tonight. We're backing Golden State.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Our final pick comes in the Lakers' home matchup with the Trail Blazers. As of now, the oddsmakers had Portland favored by 2.5 points, with a more modest total of 202.5 available.
If you didn't know, LA has been brutal again to start this season, going 2-10 through 12 games. Their only wins came at home against Detroit and on the road against Brooklyn; other than that, the Lakers have found the sledding tough when they step on the court, and that's a trend that's likely to continue throughout the season.
Tonight, however, could be a little different, as Portland hasn't been nearly as good as they were early this season. The Trail Blazers have been on a really bad run, in all actuality, having lost seven of their previous eight matchups to fall to 5-9 overall. Despite the continued strong play of guards Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, and nice some contributions from Al-Farouq Aminu, Portland is finding it hard to be competitive each and every night. After all, this is a group that lost four of its five starters from last season, so we shouldn't have expected a seamless transition.
We may be a little crazy, but we're going to be backing the Lakers as one of our NBA picks of the day. While the results have been disappointing, they have managed to at least be competitive in most of their losses, rather than just getting blown out of the gym every game. Plus, the Trail Blazers have been struggling in their own right, and we don't feel nearly as confident backing them these days.
Tonight we wouldn't be shocked to see LA pick up their third victory of the year, so with our NBA Picks we'll take the points and roll with the home underdogs.
