The NBA is in action today and below we check out where the odds are trending and if we can get a few sharp angles in our free picks. Put these to good use and bust your bookie.

LA Clippers vs. Washington Wizards

The Clippers may have won four straight but they're doing nothing for those backing them in their NBA picks. LA has failed to cover the number in five of their last six contests and has been installed by the NBA odds makers as favorites in all but one of those six games.

The Wizards have won four of their last five and covered in all but the game they lost. Washington's games have gone over the posted total in eight of their last nine contests while the Clips games have soared over in five of their last seven.

As of this Sunday morning writing, Washington has bumped up half a point from 4 ½ to 5 point home favorites over the Clippers. And it is no surprise that the sharps have taken a big piece of the over 214 as the opening number and pushing it to 216 in all the major offshore markets.

Betting Trends: Washington & Over.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Philadelphia 76'ers

Two of the very worst the NBA has to offer will clash in the City of Brotherly Love this afternoon. Brooklyn has lost six of its last eight straight up but has covered the number in five of those eight contests. The Nets check into this contest with a 7-18 record while the Sixers bring up the rear in the East with a 6-20 mark.

The teams have gone in separate directions concerning the total, with the Nets going high in six of their last seven while the Sixers have gone low in five of their last six. it's not surprising then that the total has remained rock solid from its opener of 216 and remains there as of this Sunday morning writing. However, the home favorite in this contest, the Philadelphia 76'ers, have dropped from 4 ½ point faves to 2 ½ and even as low as 2 in some shops.

Betting Trends: Brooklyn

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat

Boston opened as four-point home favorites and that number has inched up to 4 ½ as of this writing. However, the total has plummeted from an opener of 204 to as low as 201 at Pinnacle.

Two of the last three meetings between these teams have gone low and Miami has gone low in three of their last four while Boston has gone under in their last two contests.

Betting Trends: Boston & Under
