Stephen Curry is favored to be named NBA Finals MVP, an award that he's never won. Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant follow Curry on the list.

Durant won the NBA Finals MVP award in 2017 and 2018 and while Andre Iguodala earned the honor in the 2015 NBA Finals.

The Warriors just confirmed that KD will miss Game 1 of the NBA Finals while DeMarcus Cousins is listed as questionable. Both players continued to make good progress with their rehabilitation but Durant won't recover in time for Game 1 and he might miss Game 2 as well, so winning his third straight NBA Finals MVP award will be complicated.

With Durant out, Stephen Curry will have to step up but that wasn't a problem for him during the Western Conference Finals against the Trail Blazers.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

👀 the BEST of 2018-19 NBA Regular Season & #NBAPlayoffs from @StephenCurry30! #StrengthInNumbers

🚨: GSW / TOR, Game 1
🗓️: Thursday, 5/30
⏰: 9pm/et 📺: ABC pic.twitter.com/CWS4PMjrNh
— NBA (@NBA) May 27, 2019
"}[/]

The Warriors and Raptors have received big performances from many different players but what Curry and Leonard have done in the playoffs stands out in a big way.

Curry averaged 24.7 and 23.8 points per game in the first two rounds but once Durant went down he had to shoulder a huge scoring load and he definitely played like an MVP against the Trail Blazers, averaging 36.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists on 47.1 percent shooting and 42.5 percent from 3-point range.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors in Game 4 with a triple-double of 37 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists while making 7 of 16 3-point attempts, becoming just the fifth player in NBA history to score 30 points in every game of a four-game sweep.

Kawhi Leonard had a monster Game 6 against the Bucks with 27 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists and he's averaging 31.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 38.7 minutes over 18 playoff games, shooting 50.7 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from beyond the arc.

The play of Curry and Leonard will be a major talking point in the NBA Finals but both teams have a number of players who can create problems for their opponent.

The sportsbooks monitored by SBR Odds favor the Raptors by 1 point for Game 1 of the NBA Finals and the total has been set between 214.5 and 215.

2019 NBA Finals MVP Odds
(Courtesy of Jazz Sports)

Stephen Curry -150

Kawhi Leonard +200

Kevin Durant +550

Draymond Green +700

Klay Thompson +1000

Pascal Siakam +2000

Kyle Lowry +2500

Andre Iguodala +3500

Marc Gasol +5000

Field (any other player) +750

Series Price for the NBA Finals
(Courtesy of BetOnline)

Warriors -280

Raptors +235

2019 NBA Finals Schedule
(Courtesy of Sports Media Watch.
