The talk about Washington being better without John Wall is now virtually non-existent. Meanwhile, San Antonio is gearing up for a playoff push, as usual, regardless of who they have available.

The Spurs had won six consecutive games prior to Sunday's loss, while the Wizards are on a three-game losing streak. Washington has lost eight of its last 12 games and is about to backdoor its way into the playoffs. The Wizards were once the third seed in the Eastern Conference, but they have fallen to sixth and would potentially face Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs.

When the Wizards and Spurs met last week, San Antonio extended its home winning streak to 18 with a 98-90 victory. In tonight's rematch, even on the road, the Spurs are small favorites on the NBA odds board.

The Wizards will have to continue their solid bench play led by Mike Scott, who has been absolutely on fire this season in terms of shooting off the bench. Scott is averaging 8.5 points a game on 53-percent shooting from the field and 43-percent shooting from behind the arc. His play along with the insertion of Tomas Satoransky as the starting point guard have taken the Wizards' depth to a level they had not reached in years past.

Washington's John Wall is still a few days and a few practices away from getting back on the court. On the other side, the Spurs have just about given up on Kawhi Leonard returning from a quad injury that has kept him out of all but nine games this season.

When it comes to protecting their home court, the Wizards have been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season. Washington has a home ATS record of 13-23, next-to-last in the league. The Wizards are 20-17 straight-up at home, which ranks last among playoff teams.

The Wizards are one of only three NBA teams who currently have a better road record (20-16) than home record (20-17). The Celtics and Suns are the other two. The Wizards were much better last season at home (30-11) than on the road (19-22).

There is no stat or metric that would give bettors any inclination the Wizards are prepared to beat a team such as the Spurs at home. Smart bettors will use their NBA picks tonight to take the Spurs and count that cash all the way to the bank.
