Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs
NBA odds makers have come out making San Antonio a -7 favorite like at Bookmaker -110. For my NBA pick of the day I am going to back the Spurs in the spot to win this game by double digits. OKC played about as well as they could last game but San Antonio will make the right adjustments.

OKC Thunder
In game four OKC shot over 50% from the floor and 39% from distance with Kevin Durant going for 41 points as OKC outscored the Spurs 34-16 in the final quarter. Hats off to a great effort by the Thunder but I am not surprised odds makers have made them such a large underdog for this game five. It was simply a solid game overall for them combined with a hot fourth quarter, and combined with San Antonio not shooting the ball particularly well from distance.

OKC out rebounded the Spurs 51-41, and had 23 assists along with getting to the line 29 times compared to just 16 times by San Antonio. The real focal point though was that fourth quarter where they knocked everything down and got a ton of momentum from Durant that carried them to a win that was tougher than it looked. For game five I anticipate San Antonio to come in with a little bit of a chip on their shoulder and handle things defensively much better at home in limiting OKC from the inside out.

San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs shot 47% from the floor in game four but only 16.7% from distance going 2-12 from beyond the arc. I am sure Popovich has his team looking at some game footage to see where they went wrong on both ends of the floor. Obviously the shooting percentage from distance was poor but the fact they didn’t get up their normal 19 attempts didn’t help.  Added to that was they did not move the ball very well with only 12 assists which is well off their 24 per game average, good for fifth in the league.

Don’t expect the Spurs to be nearly as limited offensively tonight and expect more of a game one type of performance. Defensively I thought they played ok but just got caught in a buzz saw of Thunder players dropping some pretty unreal shots, some expected like from Durant and others not so much like a couple threes with a hand in the face from Waiters and Kanter. It happens sometimes but tonight I expect a reversal of fortune and for the Spurs to put the clamps down defensively and shoot more like they are capable of. They win this by double digits and are very likely to take the series.
