In the NBA Odds these days there are a couple of favorites growing like weeds. MLB odds today have featured some big changes we will look into as well. Understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (485-426 L173D)

NBA – Rockets vs. Hornets 7:05 ET ROOT-SW, SPSO
The Rockets have been playing solid basketball down stretch with an 11-4 and 10-5 ATS record and could be in a three-way for first place in the Southwest Division with a victory. While there are questions what kind of defense Houston will play in the postseason and what kind of adjustments they will make facing the same opponent game after game, there is no doubt to those making NBA picks on how this matchup will turn out. Sportsbooks opened the Rockets at -8.5 and they have been jettisoned to -12 against Charlotte, who has crumbled like a dried out cookie in closing 4-12 (6-10 ATS). With the Rockets ability to score and the Hornets  0-7 ATS in home games off a road loss by 10 points more, Houston’s at least worth a look and I would wait and see if they come down a notch for better value.

NBA Pick – Slight lean Houston

NBA – Pelicans vs. Timberwolves 8:05 ET FSN-NO, FSN-N
The Pelicans know if they win their final two contests, they are playoff bound. This mission starts in Minnesota who has lost 10 in a row (3-7 ATS) and shown few signs of really putting up a battle. The early NBA odds had New Orleans at -10.5 and quicker than Kylie Jenner posting her latest Instagram pic, the Pelicans were up three points to -13.5. With New Orleans winning and covering the previous trio of matchups by 26 points a game this season, why would you even consider the T-Wolves for sports picks? New Orleans just needs to win this encounter which sets up a much bigger battle with San Antonio Wednesday, thus I don’t believe we will see the Pelicans best effort.

NBA Pick – Lean Minnesota (I must be nuts)

MLB – Reds vs. Cubs 8:05 ET FSN-O, CSN-C
The first signs to MLB baseball handicappers like myself that the Chicago Cubs are becoming a more public team was them being listed as -160 money line favorite over Cincinnati this evening. The Cubs did take a series over Colorado, but I’m not sure what that really proves. The Reds were actually predicted to finish below Chicago by most baseball pundits; nevertheless they have started 4-2. Jon Lester vs. Mike Leake might sound like a bit of mismatch until to know Leake has beaten Chicago four consecutive times and posted a 1.71 ERA in the process and Cincy is 12-3 versus the Cubs when Leake takes the ball. This all leads to the Cubs sinking to -135 home faves. We will find out how different Joe Maddon’s club really is since the Reds are 19-6 in past 25 Wrigley Field visits.

MLB Pick – Lean Cincinnati

MLB – Athletics vs. Astros 8:10 ET CSN-CA, ROOT-SW
In April, the heat and humidity has not yet built to summer time levels in Houston which is why the roof is open at Minute Maid Park. The Astros, after a sluggish start have 10 or more hits in their last three tilts and face an Oakland outfit which is averaging 6.1 runs per game after one week. This is partly why the total has jumped up a full run to 8.5. Other elements include the wind possibly blowing out to centerfield at 10-15 MPH and Scott Feldman starting for Houston, who is 21-9 OVER pitching at home the last three seasons and 13-3 OVER at home if his club is off a win. Plus these division partners 14-5 OVER at Juice Stadium the previous two years.

MLB Pick – Play Over at Pinnacle Sports
