Before placing your sports picks today, check out this report. With the NBA season almost at Thanksgiving, teams are working toward the completion of their first full month of competition.

Phoenix Suns vs. Indiana Pacers

NBA Odds: Suns -1

The Suns have to be happy that they didn’t just beat the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night; they crushed the Sixers and were able to coast home with a 122-96 win. The lack of stress and struggle over the final quarter and a half of that game, with the contest well in hand the whole way, should leave the Suns in good position for this next half of a back-to-back against Indiana. Phoenix was not forced to push itself. The Suns created the kind of energy management a pro team hopes for over the course of the season. With Indiana simply not having the offensive firepower of previous seasons, the Suns can create noticeable advantages against the Pacers by running the floor and pushing the pace. Indiana might hang in for three quarters, but the Suns have more and better playmakers, which should make the difference in the fourth.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Houston Rockets

NBA Odds: Mavs -3

The Mavericks had a somewhat shaky first week, but they’ve been solid since then. Their offense continues to operate at a high level, having scored 105 points in a road win over Washington last Wednesday, and then scoring 68 points in the first half of Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Mavericks, who entered Friday night with only three losses, are pretty much where they want to be in the standings. Their league-best offense is carrying them, but they’re in the top half of the NBA defensively, at 14th in the league. They are fifth in the league in assists and are the favorites on NBA odds tonight.

The Houston Rockets have James Harden on their team, but they’re only 20th in the NBA in scoring offense. Their defense is what has powered them this season. Houston is third best in the league in defense, allowing just over 92 points per game. Do you trust Houston’s defense or Dallas’ offense? That’s a hard question. Where this game might be won or lost is the other matchup between Dallas’ defense and Houston’s offense. Right now, Dallas’ defense is better, so take the Mavs.

Washington Wizards vs. Milwaukee Bucks

NBA Odds: Wizards -2

This is a tough game to pick. Washington has the better record by a few games, and the Wizards have a clear advantage on offense, being 17th in the league entering Friday’s play while Milwaukee was 23rd. Moreover, Milwaukee got absolutely wiped out by the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, losing by a score of 124-83. The Bucks might be in a position where they’re vulnerable and lacking confidence. However, Milwaukee’s defense entered the Toronto game rated eighth in the NBA. After a humiliation against Toronto, the Bucks might come out with fire and play well here. Washington is also coming off an emotional game against Cleveland – anyone who plays LeBron James and the Cavs gets involved in an important moment which requires a lot of energy. Washington might be spent, and Milwaukee could be ready to bounce back. Take the Bucks with your NBA picks.
