We have another big night in the NBA this evening, as 24 of the league’s 30 teams are in action, and there are plenty of good values. The NBA Odds have all come out for today, and with almost half of the teams playing on the second night of a back to back, there could be some very good value in these two NBA Picks.

In their first meeting in Boston about a month ago, the Celtics creamed the Cavs 103-86, and while I think this time around will be a bit more competitive, I still think Boston can cover this spread.

Neither one of these teams played last night and neither one has any major injuries to concern us with. However the key to this game will be the battle upfront. Tristan Thompson and Andrew Bynum have been the cover boys for inconsistent big man duos this season, and whether or not they both show up in Boston tonight will have a big affect on who wins this game. Bynum and Thompson were a combined 3-13 with six points in the first meeting, and they were equally ineffective helping off to defend Jeff Green, who dropped 31 points.

The Cavs will still have no answer for Green, and even though Cleveland holds the advantage at point guard, I can not stress enough that Avery Bradley has almost become an elite on-ball defender, and he can disrupt Irving tonight. Kyrie has been playing better recently, but on the road his struggles have yet to consistently subside. He is still averaging 39% shooting from the floor on the road, and in the Cavs last five road games (including the last one against Boston) he has only hit 37% of his shots. Boston is undervalued here, and I’m laying points.

NBA Pick: Celtics -3 ½

[gameodds]5/251422/?r3=43-19-349/us&r-1=43-19-349/us[/gameodds]

Bobcats vs. Hawks

The Bobcats come off of a good game last night against the Thunder, and even though they lost SU, they got the cover, only losing by four points. Tonight the NBA Odds have the Bobcats as +5 ½ underdogs in Atlanta. Even though the Hawks got the night off last night, I think they are very overvalued in light of recent news.

Al Horford tore his pectoral muscle, and will likely be out for the remainder of the season. This is a horrible injury for the Hawks, as they were playing well this season, and Horford’s season was one of the main reasons. Now without him, the Hawks are left with a huge hole in their front court that is not really fillable. Even with Paul Millsap playing very well this season, a big reason for his success has been the presence of Horford in the middle. Gone is Zaza Pachulia, and the Hawks really don’t have another center on the roster. Horford isn’t a true center anyways, but the Hawks are loaded with power forwards like Gustavo Ayon, Mike Scott and Elton Brand. One or all of them are going to have to eat Horford’s minutes, and it will likely be at a huge loss for the Hawks.

Not only do I think the Cats can overcome the back-to-back, but without Horford the Hawks are going to lose a lot of that previous scoring punch. I think Charlotte and the under are great bets here tonight in Atlanta for your NBA picks.

NBA Pick: Bobcats +5 ½ & UNDER 193 ½

[gameodds]5/251426/?r3=43-19-349/us&r-1=43-19-349/us[/gameodds]
