I’ll start this pick my saying that I hate it. It’s the first time I’ve recommended a play on SBR that I hate, but I also think it’s going to cash. I just hate betting on the Knicks!

Kings vs. Knicks

The good news for this one is it looks like Kristaps Porzingis is going to play. After missing a game earlier in the week with elbow and ankle injuries, Porzingis put in a full practice on Friday, and it looks like he’ll return at home against the Kings.

The Knicks have been pretty good at Madison Square Garden to start the season, going 5-2 SU and ATS, and on the flip side, the Kings have been pretty terrible on the road.

Sacramento won their first road game against a similarly hapless Mavericks team, but since then they have played five road games, they are 0-5 SU and 0-4-1 ATS.

They have also lost most of their games by double-figures. Their average margin of defeat in those last five road games averages out to nearly 15 points.

The Knicks aren’t a very good team, but they are good in areas that the Kings aren’t. Down low the Knicks have a lot of rim protection and rebounding, while the Kings have very little. On top of that, if Tim Hardaway continues his hot shooting from the Orlando game, the Kings stand no chance in this one.

Since 2014, the Kings are the worst team in the NBA in non-conference games, going 37-34-4 ATS versus the East. That’s nearly a 60% cash rate for the Eastern Conference teams, and that doesn’t even include their road record ATS against the East. I’m assuming that’s even worse, and I’m also assuming the Knicks cover this one with Porzingis likely back.
