The Pacers and Nets have been slowing things down lately and lowering their scores as a result. However, a lot of it has to do with their opponents, and tonight against one another, we could see a game played at a super-fast pace.

Pacers vs. Nets

In the first game of the season, the Pacers and Nets lit up the court in route to a 140-131 win for the Pacers. A lot has changed for the Nets since that game, and even though they’ll be without their top two guards from that game, they still have some guys who can score.

On top of that, they’ve added Jahlil Okafor for some low-block scoring, and against a team like the Pacers, he will play tonight. On top of that, both teams have lost two in a row heading into this game, so they should be locked in for the early start on Sunday.

On the year, Brooklyn has been much better at scoring when they play at home, averaging 112 points per game. They’re giving up more than that when they play at the Barclays Center, and the Pacers should fall right in line when it comes to running and gunning.

Indiana has struggled to score some over their last five games, but on the road they have given up a lot of points. They’re allowing nearly 109 points per game on the road, and they gave up an average of 119 points per game in their two road games back in late November and early December.

Considering the over has cashed in three of the last four games for our NBA picks between these two teams, I’m leaning towards an offensive bounce back for both teams and a poor defensive showing for both as well.
