In today’s game five of the Western Conference Finals I am looking for the pace to quicken and for the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets to go over the total for your NBA picks.

The Line
NBA odds makers have come out with the total of this game set at 216.5.  It might seem a bit high even with the scoring affair last game, but I like for both of these teams to get up and down the floor tonight. The combined scoring in the series so far has been all over the spectrum from 197 to over 240 points.

Golden State on the Go
The Warriors have had some success this series pushing the pace. What was really an anomaly was this line last game, Warriors 97 attempts, Rockets 76 attempts, and the Rockets won by double digits… wow. The Rockets simply just shot the lights out going for 56% from the field and 53% from beyond the arc, unreal numbers. I anticipate the Warriors to keep up this kind of pace because despite the loss in game four, this is where they have had their most success. On the season the Warriors were fourth in the league in attempts at 86.6 shots per game and I anticipate them to control the pace today.

Here's another NBA pick on the Total for you to profit with!

Getting Effective
The Warriors led the league in effective field goal shooting at 53.9% with Houston not far off ranked 7th at just above 51%. In the last three games we have seen those numbers stay pretty steady so we already can anticipate both teams being able to score.

Ultimately this game is going to depend on who controls the pace, and I am predicting for the Warriors to do this at home and dictate tempo.  In the last two games the Warriors have been going at a torrid pace attempting 97 shots per game. I expect more of this from them and the Rockets are going to be forced to run a bit more today, something they are pretty comfortable doing. Take the over with your NBA picks.
