Find out where the value NBA picks are to be had as the Houston Rockets look to sweep the series with Dallas Mavericks when the pair collide in game 4 of their first round series in the NBA Playoffs.

Houston Rockets (3-0, 1-0 away)
The Houston Rockets are off to a flying start in the NBA Playoffs, winning three on the trot they are in an enviable position to sweep the Dallas Mavericks tonight. If the NBA odds were any indication, the prognosis is quite favourable towards that end.

Odds makers send the Houston Rockets into game 4 of their series with the Dallas Mavericks as the clear-cut favourites, trading at -150 NBA odds to win outright and as the 3-point road faves. Making a decisive about turn on this matchup after they sent the Rockets into game 3 as the underdogs across the board only to be burned at the cash window.

Game 3 was an exhilarating showdown by both sides; most notably, though,  by James Harden, who enjoyed a career-high and playoff best 42 points in Houston's 130-128. The Rockets needed the MVP candidate to be at his best because the Mavericks came out with intensity and focus, determined to gain the "W" at home before their loyal fans. And they very nearly pulled it off.

The Mavericks (0-3, 0-1 home)
The Dallas Mavericks came agonisingly close to winning game 3, only for a few miscues and shots going awry that would have made all the difference on the scoreboard.  One could almost taste the agony, so potent it was on the court after the Mavs succumbed to the 130-128 victory at home, all while matched as the odds makers' favourites across the board.

To add insult to injury, Dirk Nowitzki had a season-high 34 points in the game, only to be outdone by his Houston's counterpart James Harden. And Monta Ellis had a playoff best 34 points. It was the sort of performance one would expect of a team that believes they are contenders to get back into the series. But it was still not enough. Is it any wonder why the Mavs nation is frustrated. What do the Mavs need to do to stall the Rockets, really?

NBA Betting Verdict:
It's now or never for the Mavs, if they are going to get win a game in this series. Advancing into the next round is a long shot, especially when no team in the NBA Playoffs has come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the series. Then again, just because it's never been done doesn't mean it never will be.

They have one more crack at it at home, and it's a must-win game if they are to stand a chance in this series or to rewrite NBA Playoff history. Their last account was as encouraging as it was disappointing. It was a difference of two points only at the end of the day. .

Houston Rockets have the momentum and the odds makers' nod on the NBA odds board to win outright at -150 NBA odds. Usually, it's prudent to back the confident, winning horse on your NBA picks. But we can't ignore just how well the Mavs fought in game 3. As such, we're banking on the upset this time around with the Mavs delaying perhaps the inevitable for one more game. Take the Mavs to win outright at +130 NBA odds and to cover as the 3-point home underdogs.
