Houston (21-16, 7-10 Away) will come into Philadelphia (15-22, 9-8, Home) to take on a struggling 76ers squad who have dropped their last five games in row and eight of ten over all.

Match up and Odds

Philly has only scored over 90 points just two times over that ten game stretch. Offense is not coming to the 76ers easy to say the least. With those struggles, Houston has opened a 1 point road favorite with the OVER/UNDER sitting at 202.

Sixers brutal schedule

Let’s just get this out here now. The 76ers are not nearly as bad as their record would indicate and have been victims of just a grueling schedule and nagging injuries to some of their key players. Andrew Bynum has still yet to take the floor and practically the whole line up are battling some type of injury.

Philadelphia has been on the road for the last 9 out of 10 games in which they played Brooklyn, Memphis, Golden State, Portland, Lakers, Phoenix, Thunder, Spurs and the Raptors. I sure wonder what they did to piss of whoever made the schedule this year.

What we do like is the results early on in the road trip. The first game they took a three point loss to Brooklyn, followed up by a win at Memphis. They then dropped two straight to Portland and Golden State by 6 and 7 points. They followed up with a win against the Lakers, than another 6 point loss against the Suns. So they are playing good basketball, scratching, crawling and fighting but in the end that schedule will do any team in. Playing back in their home venue tonight will be a huge refresher.

Houston still proving themselves

Nobody really knows yet whether the Rockets are contenders or pretenders.  They sit at 21-15 after dropping their last two games to Boston and New Orleans. About a week or so ago they were blessed with a easy stretch of games, playing cup cakes of the likes of New Orleans (twice), Lakers, (yes the Lakers are cup cakes right now) Cleveland and  Milwaukee which were all wins but they lost to the top dogs such as the Spurs, OKC and as we mentioned most recently Boston.

This NBA betting line is begging for Houston money and we won't fall for the trap. Houston is on the back end of a back to back, playing in Boston just last night and will have to play in Philadelphia tonight off of no rest. The Sixers should be refreshed and highly energized to be back in front of their home fans. Sixers, Head Coach, Dough Collins is one of the best in the business at getting his guys turned around and after that grueling road trip against such high level competition it will only make them stronger in the end.
