It’s a potential playoff preview in the first TNT game Tuesday as Toronto and Philadelphia close their regular-season series. Sixers will win but will they cover? The home team has all three meetings this season.

Both these clubs have reportedly talked to the Pelicans. The Raptors have some young pieces that might interest New Orleans and wouldn’t have to give up Kawhi Leonard or Kyle Lowry. However, the only way Philly gets Butler – assuming Joel Embiid is untouchable – is probably by trading Ben Simmons.

It’s quite possible Toronto-Philly is an Eastern Conference semifinals preview. The Raptors lead the season series 2-1 – all three have been decided by double digits. Both Raptors wins were in Toronto, where the Sixers have dropped 13 in a row. Philly won the last meeting 126-101 at home on Dec. 22 behind 27 points and 11 boards from Embiid and 26 points, 12 boards and eight assists from Simmons. Leonard and Serge Ibaka were out for Toronto in the second of a back-to-back.

It was only Philadelphia's third victory in the last 23 games against the Raptors.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

We give this block 2 thumbs down

👎🏽 @sergeibaka 👎🏽 pic.twitter.com/ZPhjvYfy2e
— Toronto Raptors (@Raptors) February 3, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Bet Raptors Or 76ers ATS?

Happy to admit when wrong and very much was on the Raptors last Thursday in a big home game vs. Milwaukee as the Bucks dominated in a 105-92 victory that clinched the season series – that could prove a vital tiebreaker. Toronto, which had won 10 straight at home, bounced back Sunday with a 121-103 home victory over the Clippers. Leonard had 18 points in 26 minutes. Ibaka had 16 points and 12 rebounds, his sixth straight double-double. That’s the longest streak for a Raptor since Chris Bosh’s eight in November 2009.

Kyle Lowry has battled back trouble all season and sat out Sunday. Might be wise for the team to rest him until after the All-Star break; Lowry was named an All-Star reserve. Fred VanVleet got the start in his place and had nine points, seven assists and five rebounds.

This writer bet a ton against the 76ers on Saturday in Sacramento, expecting a major letdown following Philly’s win at Golden State on Thursday. That’s exactly what happened as the Sixers were beaten 115-108 to close out their four-game trip through the West. Philadelphia shot just 7-for-33 from deep vs. the Kings. Embiid (29 points, 17 rebounds), Jimmy Butler (29 points) and Simmons (22 points) did their thing but no other 76ers player had more than eight points.

That’s really this team’s problem: No depth after the Big 3. Didn’t help matters Saturday that J.J. Redick was rested and Wilson Chandler out with a quad injury. He’s going to miss 2-3 weeks. Mike Muscala started for him vs. Sacramento but had just three points in 18 minutes.

Raptors are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 road games.

76ers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up loss.

Home team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

Raptors aren’t the same, usually, on the road with an 11-16 ATS away mark. Plus, perhaps no Lowry (although he’s from Philly so he’ll play if at all possible). Back the 76ers against the spread.
