The Raptors could ask for a better start to this season, with three straight wins, and their financial backers are 3-0 against the NBA odds. Can Toronto make it four in a row Tuesday night in Dallas?

Raptors-Mavericks Betting Odds
Much of Tuesday's NBA Odds market opened this game with Dallas favored by a point or so, with a total of right around 205. In the early action Toronto was bet into a -1.5 point favorite, while the total dropped to 204.

Raptors-Mavs Match-Up
Dallas, thought to be on the fade as the Great Nowitzki nears his end, went off this season with a wins OVER/UNDER of 36.5. But the Mavs are off to a 2-1 start, both SU and ATS, after beating the Lakers in LA Sunday 103-93. Dallas jumped out to a 15-0 lead and never trailed. Later, when LA got within seven points late in the third quarter, the Mavs went on a 17-7 run to take a 17-point lead into the fourth.

On the night Dallas shot 46 percent from the floor, and held the Lakers to just 37 percent shooting.

The Mavs also just got healthier Sunday, as guards Deron Williams and Wes Matthews and forward Chandler Parsons all played, after missing previous action.

Dallas opened this season with a 111-95 victory at Phoenix last Wednesday, winning that game outright while getting +210 on the NBA betting moneyline. The Mavericks then lost to the Clippers in LA Thursday 104-88, missing ATS as 12-point shorthanded dogs.

Tuesday night will be the home opener for the Mavs.

Toronto, two-time defending champs of the Atlantic Division, went off this season with a wins OVER/UNDER of 46, three games less than it won last season. But the Raptors are off to a 3-0 start both SU and ATS this season, after beating Milwaukee Sunday night 106-87. Toronto led throughout the game, often by double-digits, and when the Bucks got within six points early in the fourth quarter the Raptors responded by going on a 14-0 run to put the game away, covering as six-point favorites.

Toronto shot 46 percent from the floor Sunday, 11-of-24 on 3-pointers, held Milwaukee to just 42 percent shooting and won the battle on the boards by a 59-37 margin.

The Raptors are trying to improve on defense this season, after allowing opponents to shoot 46 percent from the floor last season, and so far, it's showing, as they've limited their first three foes to just 39 percent shooting.

Toronto opened this season last Wednesday with a 106-99 victory over Indiana, covering at -5, then won at Boston Friday 113-103.

Raptors-Mavs Recent History
Dallas swept the two inter-conference games from Toronto last season by scores of 106-102 and 99-92. The Mavs won that first match-up outright as three-point road dogs, then covered the second meeting at home at -4. Dallas outshot the Raptors in those two games combined 47 percent to 43 percent.

Also, those games played UNDER totals of 211 and 204.

Two seasons ago Toronto swept the two games from the Mavs; three seasons ago these teams split their two games. But the underdog is 4-2 ATS over those most recent six meetings.

Betting Analysis
Toronto is off to a nice start, playing improved defense; Dallas, meanwhile, is an iffy proposition, one that shoots 47 percent one night, 36 percent the next. We like the Raptors to take this one on the road. Also, these teams played a pair of UNDERS last season, and we're thinking along the same lines for Tuesday night.

NBA Picks: Toronto -1.5 (-105) <a href="https://www.sportsbookreview.com/Sportsbook/?v=808&book=Bodoginarticle" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="Looking to Play Online?
