A teaser seems to be the wise choice for tonight's Toronto-Indiana game, as the visiting Raptors have been playing well and the Pacers will be without one of their best players

There could be a few reasons why the Pacers are such big underdogs on the NBA odds board tonight.

The first is that the Raptors are really good and have been red hot. The other might be the absence of Domantas Sabonis, who has been ruled out for this game, robbing us of a Lithuania-vs.-Lithuania battle between Sabonis and Toronto's Jonas Valanciunas.

Sabonis’ absence may not seem like a huge deal, especially after the Pacers signed Trevor Booker for depth. However, Sabonis is probably the Pacers’ third-best player on both ends, and his absence will hurt the Pacers’ offensive upside.

However, at +4 now, we can tease the Pacers to +9 home dogs, and make this one a safer play. I don’t see the Raptors coming in and muscling the Pacers around, as Indiana has proven to be one of the league’s better home teams.

Furthermore, the Pacers have been playing better defense as of late, allowing only 95 points per game over their last five, and 97.2 points per game over their last five home games.

The Raptors are still going to score well into the 100s, but this game could have a playoff-style atmosphere, which will make both defenses take a step up.

In their third and final meeting this regular season, I see a lower-scoring game that the Pacers will likely lose SU, but not by double figures. That makes this teaser a great play for our NBA picks if we can also tease up the total.
