Atlanta has been scoring much better recently while slowly getting back some of their players, and Friday night they have a tough road test in Toronto. The sportsbooks have the Raptors as -11 favorites, but I’m more focused on the total of 216 points.

NBA Friday: Hawks vs. Raptors

Don’t look now, but the Hawks are 3-0 ATS in their last three games and 11-3 ATS in their last 14. Meanwhile, the Raptors have dropped their last two games SU and ATS after winning five in a row SU and ATS.

With that in mind, the spread is all kinds of off limits in this one. You never know when the Hawks are going to pull a good game out of their lottery-bound butts, and while I like the Raptors, they have burned me too many times to trust them in this spot.

However, with the Hawks averaging more than 109 points in their last five games, I think they are hot enough to stick with this tough Raptors defense.

Toronto has been one of the league’s best offensive teams, and at home they are averaging 114.7 points per game. They also are playing very fast at home, with a pace of 102 possessions per 48 minutes this season, and they can do a lot against this poor Hawks defense.

With the Hawks playing fast and giving up 109 points per game on the road this season, the over is where I’m looking for value in this one.
