Even though the 76ers and Nets share a division, this is only their second matchup of the season. They meet tonight in Brooklyn, with the hosts +6 underdogs.

Some teams shift their style of play after the All-Star break, and although the Sixers and Nets are in that category, the sportsbooks have been slower to adjust their numbers on the NBA odds board, especially in the first half of games.

Lately the Sixers and Nets have been putting up pretty big first-half scores. The Nets are averaging and giving up roughly 57 points per first half over their last five games, and the Sixers have been even better, averaging nearly 60 first-half points over their last five and giving up 56.8 during that stretch.

However, the bigger factor for this one will be the game's pace. Since the break, both teams have played much faster in the first half, and it could lead to the first-half total being an excellent "over" play.

In Philly’s past nine and Brooklyn’s last seven games, they are both playing at paces close to 104 possessions per game in the first half. This could be one of the reasons they are seeing such high first-half scores.

If you account for pace in the entirety of their games since the break, their speed goes way down in the second half. This is true for most teams, and tonight -- with your NBA picks -- expect it to remain true for these divisional foes.
