It should be quite the gritty affair when the Bulls and Pacers meet on the court this evening. We believe the best NBA betting value will be on the UNDER with our NBA picks.

Odds Overview
Given the sheer amount of injuries the Pacers have had to contend with, along with the fact the Bulls have looked good in the early goings of the season, we understand why the home team is favored by nine points in this case.

The total is currently trading at 185.5 points at a lot of the top online sportsbooks. Track the line movement for yourself at SBR's comprehensive NBA odds page.

Chicago Bulls
So far so good for the Bulls, who have won seven of their first nine games so far this season. Funnily enough, both of their losses came at home, first to the Cavaliers and then more recently to the Celtics.

Coming into tonight, Chicago has earned two straight wins over Detroit at home and then in Toronto.

In Thursday's win over the Raptors, the Bulls shot 48.1 percent from the floor overall, but they struggled from beyond the arc (26.7 percent) and the free throw line (68.8 percent). Nevertheless, they dominated the glass and used a big third quarter (outscoring Toronto 35-14) to grab the win away from home.

Pau Gasol continued his stellar start to his season by dropping 27 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in 35 minutes. Jimmy Butler had 21 points, nine boards and six dimes, while Derrick Rose had a 20/4/3 line in the win. Aside from Taj Gibson, the bench did next to nothing, but that didn't end up making a difference in the end.

Overall, Chicago hasn't been dominant in one phase of the game. Instead, the Buls have shown a good balance to their play, and the three-headed monster of Gasol, Gibson and Joakim Noah has looked fantastic. Add in the always-improving Butler and a hopefully healthy Derrick Rose and you can see why this Chicago team is considered a favorite in the Eastern Conference.

Indiana Pacers
Injuries have obviously ravaged this team, but credit to the Pacers for battling hard each and every night.

That determination was on display the other night in a wonderful road win over the Heat. Indiana locked things down defensively, holding Miami to 42.6 percent shooting and 75 overall points. Indiana completely owned the glass, outrebounding Miami 53-28 in the winning effort.

Roy Hibbert was a man on the mission in South Beach, as he totaled 16 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks. Donald Sloan and Chris Copeland also scored in double figures, with Indiana still earning the win despite shooting a poor 37.5 percent from the field.

The offense continues to run through Hibbert while Indiana tries to get healthy again, but it's been good to see guys like Sloan, Copeland and Solomon Hill step up and play well with the increased responsiblities. It's going to be interesting to see if they've earned a bigger role once everything gets back and is healthy again.

As we mentioned, the Pacers have been able to stay competitive because of their defensive and rebounding presence. They're fifth in points allowed per game and fourth in total rebounds per game, and most nights that's going to keep them in games.

NBA Pick
The Bulls seem to be playing at a higher tempo, but they're always going to be more defensive-minded with Tom Thibodeau patrolling the sidelines.

Both Chicago and Indiana are in the bottom half of the league in PACE, with the Pacers all the way down in second-to-last. In terms of defensive efficiency, the two teams are each ranked in the 10.

You can see where this is going. Since we don't see a lot of value in taking a side against the spread, we're instead going to look towards the UNDER with our NBA picks
