This NBA handicapper focuses his attention on the Chicago Bulls (8-3) as they stay west to face a much improved Sacramento Kings (6-5). The Bulls are undefeated on the road yet are underdogs tonight.

Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30pm ET tonight at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. This game will be televised on the TNT Network as the 2nd half of the back to back matchups tonight.

Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol Out!
This is the reason why the Sacramento Kings are a slim 1 point betting favorite according to 5 Dimes Sportsbook and the total for the game is 195. The Bulls are a title contending team and want to keep their key players in Rose and Gasol healthy for the entire season, therefore NBA odds are correct where the odds makers are concerned.

This turns into a major opportunity for the Kings. A visit from Chicago is an expected loss, but now if DeMarcus Cousins can stay out of foul trouble, the Kings have a legitimate shot of beating the shorthanded Bulls.

MVP Potential
Former NBA superstars have touted DeMarcus Cousins as one of the best players in the league. For some reason, players like Anthony "Unibrow" Davis have moved to the top of the list while Cousins has remained "a very good player", but not in the MVP talks. Cousins is coming off of a huge 24 point, 17 rebound effort in a 106-100 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. In essence, he played better than Davis, but the Brow walked away with the victory.

Cousins' supporting cast is more talented this season. If he can keep his cool on the court and keep the fouls to a limit, DeMarcus Cousins is going to have a monster season.

People are taking notice as he's averaging 22.5 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. Facing possibly the best defensive player in the league in Joakim Noah will be a tough test for Cousins tonight, but expect another 20-10 game out of Cousins. He's matured as a player and the Kings record indicates this.

Will Rudy Gay Play?
Gay is currently listed as probable for this game with an Achilles injury. Gay has been a huge part to the Kings success as the number 2 guy on the team that's capable of exploding for 40 points at any time.

For the season, Gay is averaging 21.8 points ,6.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Gay is also known for playing very well defensively.

Being a former member of the Memphis Grizzlies didn't hurt Gay's defensive game. He's suffered the last couple of games and it could be in part to the Achilles injury, but regardless, the Kings need Rudy Gay's presence on the court tonight as they face one of the best teams in the league in the Chicago Bulls.

Gibson Moves Into the Starting Lineup
Without Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol, Taj Gibson has moved into the starting lineup and on any other team, Gibson would be a starter.

Gibson is coming off of a 20 point, 6 assist, and 5 rebound effort in a victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. This just shows you how good a team that the Bulls are. Rose and Gasol are out of the lineup and they defeat the mighty Clippers by 16 points. Players like Gibson and Jimmy Butler are finally getting the respect that they deserve.

Butler has actually been Chicago's go to guy on the offensive end, averaging 21.3 points per game while shooting over 50 % from the field. Not having played a ton of minutes in the past has made the tandem of Butler and Gibson fresh and a West Coast trip has no negative effect on them.

While Sacramento is a much improved ball club, the Bulls are hitting their peak. When you can win games without Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol, that tells you something. Getting 1 point on the road against a team that's not used to winning is a gift. Make Chicago your betting NBA pick for tonight.
