Blake Griffin is probably out for at least a week, and that pretty much puts a lid on Detroit's playoff hopes. Still, there is betting value in their game tonight in Brooklyn.

Even though word of the Pistons tanking over the rest of the season has reached the league, it has not reached the Pistons. Detroit has won and covered four straight games and their offense still looked pretty good against the Knicks on Saturday.

However, they are still 4.5 games back of the eighth seed in the East, and it would take a miracle and a really bad end of the season for Miami or Milwaukee for the Pistons to make the playoffs.

However, that doesn’t mean they won’t try, and tonight against the Nets is another good opportunity for this team to get a win.

The Nets have been playing better as of late, too, winning their last two games SU and ATS. New Jersey is a -1 home favorite on the NBA odds board, but the "total" is a much better play with your NBA picks in what is basically a toss-up game.

Both of these teams have cashed the "over" in three of their last four games, and considering it’s that time of year, I expect more bad defense and plenty of offense tonight.

The last time these teams met, before the All-Star break, the Pistons won 115-106 at home. We could see a similar high score tonight in Brooklyn. The last time the Pistons played there they scored 114 points, and I see a similar score from both teams tonight.
