We've reached the point in the NBA season where playoff contenders and tank commanders alike have multiple players on the injury report, be it due to injury, load management, or, well, "injury."
However, we've still been able to identify five players for our best Underdog NBA picks today. We looked through tonight's nine-game NBA slate starting at 7:30 p.m. ET, and a plethora of role players should get increased opportunities to showcase their skills.

The Toronto Raptors’ injury report reads like a CVS receipt with RJ Barrett, Gradey Dick, Brandon Ingram, Ja’Kobe Walter, and Jonathan Mogbo all listed as out. On top of that, Ochai Agbaji is doubtful and Scottie Barnes is questionable.
Shead should see plenty of minutes for his shorthanded squad on Wednesday, which should lead to an easy cash on this combo line. In three games with at least 29 minutes (two starts), he averaged 23.3 PRA and went Higher than 22.5 twice.
The Sixers have allowed the third-most points, ninth-most rebounds and fourth-most assists across their last 10 games, making this a favorable matchup.
🎯 Klay Thompson ⬆️ 19.5 points
Perhaps no team has been hit with terrible misfortune more than the Dallas Mavericks since they traded Luka Doncic on Feb. 1. The Mavs are down a number of key players, and their injury report is even longer than Toronto’s.
Klay has averaged 23.8 points across his last four, dropping at least 26 points three times. He’s only shot 41.3% in that span, but he’s chucking the ball at a tremendous pace, putting up 20 shots per game. Thompson dropped 26 points against the San Antonio Spurs last time out, and another match against a San Antonio team that has allowed the most points per game (125.4) over their last 10 should be a recipe for a repeat performance.
🎯 Zach Edey ⬇️ 8.5 rebounds
Edey is banged up with an ankle injury, and even if he battles through and takes the court, he’ll be playing at less than 100%. Edey finished with just seven boards in 28 minutes in his last game against the Jazz, and Utah has been above average in opponent rebounding this season.
With John Collins and Walker Kessler available, the 7’4" Edey will have some size to contend with in the paint. He’s averaged 8.6 rebounds on the road but just 7.2 at home, and he’s gone Higher than 8.5 rebounds only seven times in 24 home matchups this season.
🎯 Ja Morant ⬆️ 6.5 assists
Morant has averaged 20.4 points and 8.2 assists at home compared to 23.2 points and 6.6 assists on the road. Rather than betting Lower than 26.5 points, I’ll target his assists line and hammer the Higher.
Morant has gone Higher than 6.5 assists in 25 of 41 games overall, including 17 of 22 at home. The Jazz have been one of the most generous defenses to opposing scorers this season, which means Morant should have no problem dropping dimes at FedExForum.
🎯 Quentin Grimes ⬆️ 19.5 points
Philadelphia will be without its Big 3 yet again, so Grimes should take the lead on offense for the shorthanded Sixers. Grimes has started 11 straight for Philly and averaged 20.4 points in that span while shooting better than 50% from the floor and 40% from beyond the arc.
He’s been even better over his last six, with averages of 25.7 points and even more efficient shooting. Across his last six, Grimes has gone Higher than 19.5 points four times. The Sixers get a favorable draw with an equally-depleted Raptors squad, making this an even sweeter pick for the surging Grimes.
