We posted a 1-1 night on Wednesday in our Picks of the day, but with a win on opening night, that puts us at 2-1 on the season. Friday’s Odds are full of value, and with 10 games on the slate, I am releasing my two best bets for your betting pleasure!

Blazers vs. Pacers

The Pacers and Nets put on a clinic about how to play fast and play zero defense on opening night in Indiana’s 140-131 victory. This game is in danger of being just as high scoring, because neither one of these teams plays much defense.

However, the Pacers aren’t going to shoot over 52% from the floor again tonight, even with the Blazers coming to town. However, while the total is sitting at a gaudy 225, the Blazers are slightly undervalued as road favorites of -5 in the NBA Odds.

With C.J. McCollum back after serving a one-game suspension, the Blazers’ two-headed backcourt monster is going to hurt Indiana. As long as Jusuf Nurkic can stay out of foul trouble and play Myles Turner tough on both ends, and if the Blazers’ bench can produce like they did against the Suns, this should be a SU and ATS victory for Portland.

Last season Portland was 8-6 ATS as road favorites, and since 2015 the Blazers have been an impressive 17-11 ATS as road favorites.

Indiana is still going to make this one interesting, but I’ve seen Damian Lillard snap in his last two trips to Indianapolis, and I have no doubt he is going to do it again on Friday night.

Just as Nurkic how much he likes this play!

Hawks vs. Hornets

With the addition of Dwight Howard as their defensive anchor, and playing at home, the Hornets are going to be very difficult to score on tonight. The Hawks are coming in after a nice win on opening night against the Mavs, but heading in to Charlotte has never been easy on teams.

Last season the Hornets gave up 103.4 points per game at home, and in games they won, that number lowered to 94.8 points allowed. Even without two of their top defenders in Nicolas Batum and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist tonight, the Hornets are still more talented on both ends than the rebuilding Hawks.

Atlanta shot the ball very well against the Mavs in their first game, but this is another kind of animal in this one. There is a good possibility the Hawks, or both teams fail to score 100 points tonight.

Last year the under cashed in all four of these two teams’ meetings against one another, and considering it’s a divisional game, that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. These two teams combined to cash the under at 25-10-1 in divisional games in 2016-17, and I don’t see anything changing this time around.
