We split another pair of picks on Wednesday thanks to the Spurs just giving it up early and often. However, even with a smaller slate of NBA Odds here on Thursday, we can still find some value worthy of adding to our predictions tonight!

Bulls vs. Sixers

The Chicago Bulls are in a virtual three-way tie record-wise for the final few spots of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Their only guarantee right now is to keep winning, because a loss tonight with the Heat idle and the Pacers playing another team needing the win could send them out of the playoff hunt.

Against the Sixers, winning shouldn’t be too hard for this Bulls team, but as we’ve seen from recent losses against the Knicks and these same Sixers, nothing is guaranteed with the Chicago Bulls this year.

That is why the total offers so much value tonight. The Sixers have been playing very fast lately and while the Bulls have been speeding things up too, being on the road almost certainly makes this a high-scoring affair.

Since March 15, the Sixers have played at a pace of 101.5 possessions per game, which is much faster than they were playing before March and especially before the All Star Break. Joel Embiid’s injury forced them to speed things up and that is what I expect from them tonight.

The Sixers have cashed the over in three straight and in their last two against the Bulls, while Chicago has cashed the over in eight of their last 10 overall and in five of their last six on the road.

 Nets vs. Magic

Speaking of teams starting to play faster, with the playoffs long out of reach for the Magic, the boys from Orlando and Frank Vogel have been experimenting with a faster pace of play. Is has not helped in the win department, but the Magic have been able to put some impressive offensive numbers on the board, while completely ignoring the defensive end.

The Magic have averaged 108 points per game in their last 12 overall and they have allowed 124 points during that stretch. While the Nets don’t present a tough offensive matchup for the Magic, it will be interesting to see if the Magic keep up their fast-paced play against one of the fastest paced teams in the NBA this season.

Since March 15, the Magic have played at a pace of almost 103 possessions per game, almost the same pace as the Nets during that stretch. Considering the over has cashed in both of their prior meetings this season and with both teams thinking more about their upcoming vacations more than playing defense tonight, I love the over in this one too.
